We are proud of our lovely centre and we are sure you’ll like it too. From our vast plant area to our unique gift section which contains Yankee candles and Bomb cosmetics.

Our plantaria is full of seasonal plants and shrubs to satisfy any gardener from novice to expert.
The Palms restaurant has a fantastic selection of tempting treats and home cooked meals from a simple tea and scone to a Sunday roast with all the trimmings.
Our fully trained members of staff are always on hand for help and advice.
Annuals
Annual plants are here-today, gone-tomorrow party girls. They may have just one season in the sun, but what a season: they flower for an incredibly long time and are invariably so spectacularly beautiful you’ll lose your heart to them.
We stock two kinds of annual in our garden centre in Nantgarw: hardy annuals to sow direct from March onwards, and half-hardies to sow under cover as they don’t like frost.
Please ask the staff in our garden centre for more information and advice about choosing and growing annuals.
Perennials
The real heart-stopping, breathtaking beauty of a garden comes from that most easy-going of all the plant groups: the perennials, generous, free-flowering plants which die down each winter only to bubble up again from spring, peaking in midsummer with a fireworks display of flowers.
Pack your garden with perennials from the huge selection in our garden centre and you’ll have something in flower for every week of the year. Here are a few tips to help you choose:
Visit the garden centre often as we have different perennials in stock according to the season. Choose whatever takes your fancy each month for a really long-lasting display.
Veg for containers
Harvesting vegetables from your garden is hugely satisfying, and you’ll revolutionise your tastebuds: food picked just minutes before it’s on your plate has a colour, flavour and crunchiness that have to be experienced to be believed.
We have everything in our Caerphilly Garden Centre to turn your garden into a haven of productivity: here’s a selection to get you started.
Seeds: most veg are grown from seeds, from tomatoes to carrots and lettuces. Take your pick from the huge range in our garden centre; we’ve also got ready-spaced seed tapes and delicious heritage vegetables for you to try.
Sets and seed potatoes: from early spring we stock seed potatoes, plus onions, shallots and garlic from sets – easy-to-handle baby bulbs to plant straight into the ground.
For the ultimate in convenience we also stock strips of baby vegetable plants ready to go straight into containers or out into the garden.
Perennial vegetables: great value for money, these include some real delicacies: in our garden centre you’ll find asparagus crowns, able to crop for 20 years, and stately globe artichokes looking as good as they taste.
Please ask the staff in our garden centre for more information and advice about growing vegetables.
House Plants
House Plants continue to rise in popularity and will brighten up any home.
As well as common varieties such as Peace lily and Yucca, we pride ourselves in our selection of unusual and often difficult to obtain species of plant.
The trend has been towards impressive and unusual foliage plants over the last few years. Flowering plants usually only look their best for a short period of time, whereas a large foliage plant makes a good long term statement piece.
We always have a large selection of foliage and flowering plants, hanging and trailing plants as well as Orchids and Cacti.
Terrariums and bottle gardens are also seeing a resurgence in popularity and whether you want to purchase a ready planted example or make and plant up your own, our house plant section has everything that you will need.
Stoneware and Pots
NO garden is complete without plant pots!
We stock a huge range of pots, glazed ceramic, terracotta, cast stone and even slate mosaic varieties can all be found outside on the edge of our Plantaria.
If you venture further into our outdoor area you will also find an amazing range of statues and stone ornaments including: Bird baths, Planters, figurines and pagodas.
We stock many colours and grades of decorative aggregates, all bagged in handy 25kg bags ready to take home.
But don’t worry we can also deliver heavy and bulky items directly to your home. (please ask staff for details)

Our ever changing promotional area features favourites such as Pieris ‘Forest Flame’ and Japanese Azaleas during the spring, the whole area is then filled with a profusion of cottage garden favourites into the summer before offering Autumn and Winter interest shrubs such as Skimmia later in the year.
The Seasonal bedding canopy is usually awash with colour whatever the season from flowering bulbs in the first stirrings of Spring until the last Pansies and Cyclamen of Autumn.
During the bedding season we stock a huge range of small tub and basket plants which can be used for containers, or take the easy option with our popular hanging basket kits which are colour themed for cool or hot colour schemes.
6 packs and 24 packs of bedding plants are also available in season and offer great value for those seeking to create impressively planted displays.
We stock a huge selection of ornamental trees and fruit trees. We have over 20 apple varieties from modern disease resistant strains to old heritage varieties as well as plums, cherries, gages and damsons. Soft fruit completes the collection, for those keen to ‘grow your own’ we have raspberries, currants and gooseberries to name but a few.
Roses, climbers, ferns, grasses and hedging plants all have their own dedicated areas too, so whether you have a small yard or balcony area, a vast landscaped ornamental garden or modern ’urban jungle’ style plot, we will have something for you.
Bird Care
Are you interested in attracting wildlife to your garden? Providing a good food source encourages larger numbers of birds into your garden and by feeding the birds you ensure that higher numbers of fledgling birds survive.
More birds will eat more insects, such as those which damage ornamental and edible plants, so less chemical control is needed which is better for the environment and healthier for you as well as safer for children and pets.
But where to start? We stock an extensive range of bird food and feeds which can be used to attract many species of bird.
We also stock a large range of high quality, British made bird tables which make a great centre piece for a lawn or patio.
Squirrels can sometimes also be attracted by bird food and will rapidly empty any feeders that they find, our squirrel proof feeder ranges ensure there is always plenty of food for the smaller song birds to keep them coming back.
Our bird care department also has many varieties of nest box, hedgehog houses, hedgehog food, bat boxes and insect hotels.
Caerphilly Garden Centre is your one stop shop for increasing your garden’s biodiversity.
