Whether you entertain often or occasionally, we have accessories to create the perfect atmosphere, including outdoor lighting, water fountains, and BBQs to cook up a storm.
One of our main partners is Weber, who regularly visits us with live cooking shows and tutorials, so you can learn how to use your BBQ to its full potential. Weber’s manufacturing process is renowned for its high-quality standards and meticulous attention to detail. The company uses the finest materials, including stainless steel, cast iron, and high-quality plastics, to ensure that its grills are durable and long-lasting.
It’s time to fire up the grill and get your tongs ready! With an abundance of seasonal vegetables available throughout spring and summer and a few clever cooking techniques, you can achieve the delicious, smoky flavour that many of us crave.
Melt in your Mouth Grilled Eggplant
This is a great Mediterranean side dish by itself but it is also amazing on top of good crusty sourdough bread.
THE INGREDIENTS
• 1 large eggplant, or 2 medium cut in half moons (thick enough to stand up on the skin side)
• 1/2 tsp salt • 1/4 tsp black pepper • 1/2 tbsp dried thyme • 1/2 tbsp dried oregano
• 3 cloves fresh garlic, chopped • 2/3 cup balsamic vinegar • 2/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
INSTRUCTIONS
1) In a bowl, add the cut eggplant. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and toss.
2) Add the dried thyme, oregano, garlic, balsamic, and olive oil. Toss well with your hands, making sure all the eggplant is coated in the liquid from the bottom of the bowl. Let marinate for 10 minutes, toss around eggplant after 5 minutes of marinating.
3) Heat the grill to medium heat.
4) Once the grill is hot, put the eggplant on the skin side down. Keep the bowl with the marinade because the finished eggplant is going back into
the same bowl. They should be cut thick enough so that they stand up on the skin easily. Flip the eggplant every 3 minutes or so until every side has touched the grill.
5) The key is to keep grilling the eggplant until they are practically falling apart when you pick them up. If they aren’t soft, the middle isn’t fully cooked through. They will get black and charred, and this is what you are looking for.
6) Once the eggplant is falling apart, transfer it back to the marinade. Let them cool for 5 minutes and soak up more marinade and serve.

Supporting Local Communities
Philippa and Langlands in Support of
Guide Dogs
Every hour, someone in the UK begins to lose their sight. Philippa was keen to assist Guide Dogs in raising more specialist dogs to aid those in need.
There are numerous ways to fundraise for Guide Dogs; she opted to sell seedlings.
As a local garden centre, being part of the community is immensely important to us. We aim to inspire the next generation of horticulturists to experience the joy of growing and creating beautiful green spaces, and in this instance, to support a noble cause as well.
Supporting Marie Curie
Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity, there for those with an illness as well as those close to them. Everything they do depends on the generous donations of their supporters.
So Langlands was on a mission to raise money to support their vital work once again and with the help of our customers we raised £150.99- Thank you!
