Hello and welcome to the latest edition of the Garden Centre Magazine for Studley Grange Garden Centre,

Inside this edition you can find a plentiful amount of information on what you can find instore, including a section on monthly garden tips. With knowledgeable and friendly staff on hand in store to help with advice or inspiration, complemented by the huge variety of stock available, you will be sure to find what you need for your upcoming garden and/or home projects. This edition also includes many different informative editorials and alongside you will find local businesses whose services may just be what you are looking for.

We have also launched a digital copy of the magazine, available to view on your smart phone instantly. Tony Miller has owned the Studley Grange site since 1986, which takes its name from the land which he purchased from Studley Grange Farm. In previous years other businesses have rented the site from him but following the collapse of the Wyevale Garden Centre Group in 2019 Tony took the decision to run the enterprise himself. The site was left in a state of neglect and over the past 4 years Tony has invested heavily to bring the site up to a massively improved standard. The work continues as Tony is never short of ideas to improve and enhance the site. The team running the centre are as passionate about it as Tony is and we hope you experience the feeling of pride the team put into all they do.

PLANTS

Our outdoor plant area has an abundance of beautiful plants to enhance your garden. Whether you are starting from scratch or simply filling a gap, the plant team are always delighted to educate and inspire.

Where possible our plants are British grown and we are even expanding into growing our own in our newly refurbished on site greenhouse.

From bedding plants and alpines through to perennials, shrubs, trees and large specimen plants, we have something for everyone throughout the year. In season we carry a large range of fruit and vegetable plants for those embracing the Grow Your Own movement.

Our large houseplant area is situated at the entrance to the garden centre and is filled with indoor plants to enhance your home. We understand the importance of indoor plants to improve the air quality and enhance your mood and décor.

As well as the more every day plants you will also find the rare and unusual and within the department is everything you could need for the care and display of your houseplants.

GARDENING

Anyone who gardens knows the importance of having the right tools for the job. We have everything you need to tackle any task your garden throws at you.

We have a comprehensive range of tools from Kent & Stowe in both Stainless Steel and Carbon Steel alongside an impressive range from Darlac. Watering tasks are covered by the reliable and long standing Hozelock brand.

We also stock a wide range of feed to keep your plants in good health and pest control to help with the times when pests and diseases launch an attack on your prized specimens.

To make sure you’re dressed for the job we stock the practical and the stylish in our garden clothing offering with wellies, welly socks, cloggies and gloves aplenty not to mention headgear for both Summer and Winter protection.

Studley Grange Garden & Leisure Park

Our Garden restaurant is fully air conditioned and also has cosy log burners in winter making it a delightful way to spend some time throughout the year whatever the weather. If you prefer the alfresco eating experience we have an outdoor eating area where you can also try out some of the furniture we sell.

We have just installed a new Salad Bar providing fresh and colourful salad with a choice of toppings and dressings. On Sunday we offer a succulent roast dinner using our own hand reared pork from the farm. This can be accompanied with a glass of Wine, Beer or Cider.

Our chefs prepare the food fresh to order and our bakery team produce the most stunning scrumptious cakes. Whether it’s a quick snack, a roast dinner or an indulgent afternoon tea you’re after we have it covered. There is a selection of options for vegetarians and we can cater for a range of allergies.

FOOD HALL

The Food Hall is a relatively new venture to the site and is progressing towards a truly local and unique offering.

We have fresh cakes and chocolates prepared on site, eggs from our own chickens and honey from our bees.

Alongside this we have high quality hand reared pork from the farm, locally sourced fresh and seasonal veg, locally produced spirits and beers and many more exciting products to tempt your taste buds.

To compliment this, we have installed freezers with a range of fresh frozen goods. You can now choose items such as Smoked Haddock & Melty Mozzarella Fishcakes to Crispy Hash Browns.

We also have a range of mouthwatering fruit to add to any dessert that you are creating, along with ready to bake Danishes, Chocolate Twists and Croissants.

All items are loose in the freezer, so no excess packaging to dispose of and the bag you take your purchases home in is compostable, so good for the environment.

Our giftware section is bursting with unique ideas to gift to your friends and loved ones…or why not just treat yourself. If you are looking for a new outfit, then look no further. We have a stunning range of essential seperates along with bags and scarves to compliment them. There is also a range of pre-loved country wear available that would ensure you stood out at the races or were comfortable on those long countryside walks.

All our pots, aggregates, fencing and composts can be shopped in the dry thanks to our extensive canopy in the outdoor area.

Whether you are looking to enhance your garden with a pergola or swing seat, or simply looking to add some bark to your borders, we have everything you need to perfect the finishing touches in your garden

We have a large range of statuary, from stone animals to Greek gods and you’re sure to find a piece to add a touch of class to that forgotten corner or delight visitors to your garden with an impressive centrepiece.

We are proud to have on display quite possibly the largest range of outdoor furniture in Wiltshire. Our suppliers include Kettler and Supremo and with a variety of styles and colours we can cater for every size of garden, whether you need a bistro set for cosy coffees for two or large sets for entertaining the family. We have covers to protect your furniture, cantilever and wall mounted parasols and cushions to enhance and add comfort to your outdoor living experience.

If you’re looking for the outdoor dining vibe then take a look at our wide range of BBQs both gas and charcoal, not to mention fuel and accessories to complete your experience.

For your larger purchases we also provide our own delivery service, which is free within 5 miles of the centre when spending over £300.

FARM

We may be small but we are home to some of the world’s favourite zoo animals. With lots of daily activities (Some are weekends and school holidays only), there is plenty to see and do. We have encounter sessions where you can get up close and personal to a variety of animals including reptiles and bugs.

We have keeper talks where you can learn about a few of our residents like Tarka & Sophia our Asian Small Clawed otters, everyone’s favorite Rigby our Raccoon, our Eagle owls and finally our mob of Meerkats.

In between the talks you will be able to see some of our more exotic animals like our Prevost Squirrels and Patagonian Mara, feed the chickens, pheasants, ducks and peafowl and maybe even get to see Brian and Jason our free-range peacocks displaying their gorgeous tail feathers. We even have a small reptile house with a variety of lizards, snakes and Snowflake our Salmon Pink Birdeater Tarantula.

The fun doesn’t stop there, as just past our wallaby and emu paddocks, we have all the farmyard favourites which you can hand feed. The goats, sheep and cows will always tell you that they are hungry. We have alpaca and pigs and even some donkeys from the Donkey Sanctuary which you might get to meet when they are out for their daily walk. Here at Studley Grange we always have lambs as we breed them all year from our Polled Dorset sheep. If it’s the smaller animals that you prefer then we have our rabbits and guinea pigs too, which are often seen relaxing in the sun or grazing on the grass.

If you fancy getting a little closer, we offer a variety of experience packages. Or maybe you are planning a birthday party and would like to include an animal experience.

Here at Studley Grange we have an array of exotic butterflies that free fly as you walk among the tropical plants. You will be able to see a variety of butterflies in all different shapes, sizes and colours. Some of our biggest species are the Blue Morpho, the Owl and the Atlas moth. On your journey around their home, you can learn about the lifecycle of the butterfly and see each stage within the butterfly house.

All our pots, aggregates, fencing and composts can be shopped in the dry thanks to our extensive canopy in the outdoor area.

The Butterfly Keeper is always happy to point out the eggs, the caterpillars and show you the pupae. They can also explain the species of plants we have and why. If you like some of the plants and would like to take a little piece of paradise home with you, then our garden centre is the perfect place.

Not only are there some of the most beautiful butterflies in the world living in our butterfly house, it is also home to some very large koi carp, turtles and terrapins, tortoise and our green iguanas and our Boa Constrictors. We also have a small nocturnal area for our lesser tenrec which is a species in its own right from Madagascar. Then if you are truly brave and intrigued, we have some amazing bugs like our Giant African Train Millipedes. These cool guys are fascinating to watch.

SOFT PLAY

Our softplay centre is accessible to all visitors and aimed for children up to 8 years old. It is fully air conditioned for those hot summer days too. With an opportunity to purchase in half hour slots (or stay for longer if desired) it makes the perfect place to come just for a quick visit and let the children burn off some excess energy. Booking is available in advance or you can pay on the day.

There is a small cosy baby area to allow baby to experience their first softplay and even a baby ball pit. As they grow the equipment grows with them, spread out over three floors and sporting two different types of slides, practice your goal shots football area, a ball pit and a canon shoot out, the children are going to love it!

As the children play you can relax with a variety of hot and cold drinks, homemade cakes and biscuits. We also have the children’s favourite drinks in the fridge too. Or you might fancy a Marshfield ice cream with plenty of flavours to choose from.

We also cater for parties in our party room where we supply a hot or cold buffet and the children get to enjoy the equipment for a longer period of time with their friends!
