Hello and welcome to the latest edition of the Garden Centre Magazine for The Grange Garden Centre,
Inside this edition you can find a plentiful amount of information on what you can find instore, as well as a handy section on monthly garden tips. With knowledgeable and friendly staff on hand in store to help with advice or inspiration, complemented by the huge variety of stock available, you will be sure to find what you need for your upcoming garden and/or home projects. This edition also includes many different informative editorials and alongside you will find local businesses whose services may just be what you are looking for.
We have also launched a digital copy of the magazine, available to view on your smart phone instantly. Please scan the QR code, featured at the bottom of this page, and this will bring up the publication for you to view. You can also access the digital magazine at touchpoints in the garden centre. One of the most exciting features of our digital publication is that you can interact with the garden centre's social media or connect with local business websites with just a quick tap on your device.

Our roots at The Grange Garden Centre began when our creator John Houghton had the idea to start selling some asparagus plants locally, little by little things progressed and what started as something so simple turned into a nursery by John himself at the age of just 20. With many locals taking a fancy to these growing veggies, an idea arose, and the Garden Centre began to form. Soon there was more than just asparagus and little by little the business started to grow with more plants, more customers, and more ideas!
Over time it has now become a huge attraction to the Leicestershire area and has a significant number of products to take home including garden care, furniture, a great range of plants, trees, shrubs and hanging baskets as well as pots, ornaments and of course the seeds to be able to grow your own at home just like us. A huge part of the Garden Centre is the homegrown nursery, a wide variety of our plants are grown by the team themselves, you won’t find quality like it anywhere else. After the achievement of starting up a trusted and admired business, it began to grow further by adding to the land that would attract a wider audience. This is when the restaurant was formed, based on John’s family love for the French Alps and traditional French dishes.
The business is still in the family, John’s daughter Holly is now Managing Director as John focus’ on other business developments. Holly has kept the garden centre updated, transforming the well-loved gift shop into our new Lifestyle Store, and constantly updating our delicious menu. Come and give us a visit and help us to grow our story further!
Plant Area
Here at The Grange Garden Centre we have all your garden favourites in our plant area, ranging from locally sourced bedding, home-grown perennials, roses, a vast selection of trees, aquatics, garden furniture, shrubs, fruit trees and more.
Whatever your level of gardening expertise we have something here to suit you. There is always a member of staff to help with advice and suggestions for your garden. Why not make the most out of our in house planting service, we are happy to quote for any job.
Garden Shop
Inside our garden shop you will find all the accessories you need to complete your gardening jobs, including tools, garden care, watering equipment and much more. We stock a full range of composts including peat free organic compost, vegetable compost and multi-purpose to name a few. Barks and aggregates are also a big part of our garden centre offer.
In our outdoor living section we have an extensive garden furniture range from bench sets to garden sofas and tables.
Our furniture is super comfy and the perfect addition to any garden as well as having a range of cushions to create a modern theme with adding colour or a pattern to your garden.
We also stock a range of fire pits, that create a warm, relaxed atmosphere for you to enjoy in your garden.

Outdoor Living
Bird & Pet Care
We stock a large range of wild bird and pet care including feeders, bird houses, and bird food as well as dog toys, treats and accessories.
We are dog friendly throughout the garden centre. As long as your dog is well behaved and kept on a lead, you can even order sausages especially for your furry friend, why not treat them to a treat from our garden shop or a new toy!
Lifestyle Store
Our lifestyle store has recently had a face lift and now has a fresh clean look, creating inspiration for your home and offers amazing gifts for you or someone special. Our range of cards offers something for everyone and our house plants will make it hard for you to leave without taking one home.

House Plants
The Mountain Restaurant on Asfordby Hill in Melton Mowbray; a French Ski Lodge inspired Restaurant serving freshly prepared food all year round. You can be sure to always be welcomed with a smile and fantastic service, all our food is made completely from fresh with locally sourced ingredients meaning you have the best experience in our destination Garden Centre.
Whatever you fancy we can accommodate, whether it be a hearty panini or our famous French speciality the Tartiflette – layered jacket
potato, white wine, garlic, onions, bacon & cream bubbling hot in delicious Reblechon cheese, served in a hot pan with a side salad & crusty bread.
We offer a huge range of cakes, homemade scones (fresh everyday), cheesecakes and other daily desserts catering for all dietary requirements. You are welcome to simply just join us for a cake or coffee anytime of day.
Open 7 days a week: 9am - 5pm, serving food until 3.30pm
All of our dishes are freshly prepared to order including our homemade burgers using Owen Taylor a local butchers. Our chefs work hard to ensure that all of our food is as fresh and locally sourced as possible, we also cater for dietary requirements including gluten and dairy intolerance just speak to your waiter / waitress upon arrival. Our Sunday Roasts are very popular, all our meat being locally sourced and hand seasoned by our chefs. We have live music every Sunday from 1pm – 3pm that features quiet background music, perfect for a relaxing Sunday lunch with friends or family. You can view our menu online as well as our online booking system.
The Grange Camping & Caravan Park offers peace and tranquillity located a mile from the famous market town of Melton Mowbray nestled amongst the beautiful rolling countryside of Leicestershire, surrounded by panoramic views across the Wreake Valley. Step away from the stresses and strains of our fast-paced lives and surround yourself with nature and birdsong our Park provides in abundance.
We have our well-appointed, purpose-built shower block facility ‘The Farmhouse’, comprising of women’s, men’s, disabled facilities, pot wash and our Farmhouse Kitchen Café, offering a traditional menu all made with locally sourced ingredients from local suppliers where possible. The Park provides 20 hardstanding pitches, including 5 Supersize pitches, each with metred electric, mains water and grey water disposal. The Camping Field has the choice of Electric and Non-Electric pitches as well as our very own genuine Mongolian Yurts for a more luxurious trip away.
