Theatre Workshop of Nantucket continues to bring its gleeful production of the mixtape musical Rock of Ages to the Bennett Hall Stage. A touch cheesy and a whole lot of fun, this Broadway hit will have you tapping your feet and joining in on your favorite tunes.
Rock of Ages takes audiences back to a time of 80s rock anthems by bands including Night Ranger, REO Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, and more. This five-time Tony Award-nominated musical tells the story of a small-town girl, a city boy, and a rock ‘n’ roll romance on the Sunset Strip. But when the bar where rock reigns supreme is set to be demolished, it’s up to these wannabe rockers and their friends to save the day and the music. Rock of Ages’ electric score features so many favorites, including: “Every Rose Has It’s Thorn,” “I Wanna Know What Love Is,” “Here I Go Again,” “Don’t Stop Believin’,” and more!
This TWN production is showing Tuesday through Saturday through August 26. Tickets for Rock of Ages are on sale now at theatrenantucket.org. And save the date of August 20 for Theatre Workshop’s What a Feeling benefit celebration.
