ELECTRIC METER Mounted to the exterior wall close to the main entrance. M o n i t o r e d b y T N B t o calculate electricity used.
DISTRIBUTION METER Installed inside of a house. D i v i d e s e l e c t r i c i t y t o different usage in a building.
TELEPHONE POINT A type of connector that connects telephone to wiring inside building. This also allows telephone to connect to other networks such as WIFI.
TELEPHONE A device that permits two or more users to conduct a conversation when they are too far apart to be heard directly.
AIR CONDITIONER Attached to wall. Acts as a cooling device in a space.

DOUBLE SWITCHED SOCKET Appliance that allows flow of electricity to other devices or services through plug and wire.
CEILING FAN A t t a c h e d t o c e i l i n g . Rotates to create wind flow and cool space.
WALL LIGHT Fixed to a wall and uses wall for support. Wall light can be both for aesthetics and function.
1, 2, 3 GANG SWITCH Each switch controls different functionality of different electrical devices in the house such as lights, fans, heaters, etc.
CEILING LIGHT Mounted to ceiling. Commonly used in household. Light penetration is concentrated and has better aesthetic compared to fluorescent light.

02 COLD WATER & HOT WATER SUPPLY
 
WATER METER To monitor and measure the amount of water used in a building. Installed at the front of building.
WATER PUMP Increase the water pressure of water entering house so t h a t t h e w a t e r c a n b e distributed thought the house for use.
STOPCOCK Operated valve regulating the flow of water supplying to a house.
WATER HEATER Placed above ceiling level in a building. Use to store w a t e r b e f o r e f u r t h e r distribution to serve different purposes.
UPVC PIPE Cost effective and durable. Highly used in piping system. Carry and distribute water in the water supply system.
COPPER PIPE Use for hot water piping. Easily heated to produce hot water to use in a household.
 
FLUSH TOILET Located in the water closet. Disposes excreta by using water to flush it through a drainpipe to another location for disposal.
KITCHEN SINK Located in the kitchen for w a s h i n g a n d s a n i t a r y purposes. Receives water from direct pipes and not water tank.
SHOWER Located in the water closet. Has both hot and cold water that can be adjusted by turning the shower knobs.
WASHING MACHINE Machine uses water to clean c l o t h i n g a n d s h e e t s . Receives water from water tank.
STAND PIPE Located in the water closet. Vertical pipe extending from w a t e r s u p p l y t o w a t e r closet.


03 RAIN WATER & DRAINAGE SYSTEM


Downpipe
GUTTER & RAINWATER DOWNPIPE A gutter is a shallow trough that is fixed beneath the edge of a roof carrying off rain water.
SURFACE DRAIN A shallow drain that collects water from land surfaces and discharge them into the main drain. STACK PIPE Extension of the waste stack that runs up through the roof. For venting of exhaust gases and maintain pressure in water system.
SUMP A l o w s p a c e t h a t c o l l e c t s undesirable liquids such as waste water. It also helps to manage surface runoff water.


04 SEWERAGE & SANITARY SYSTEM

GULLY TRAP Located outside of building to carry waste water to the nearest drain to prevent foul gases from entering the house. It also prevents insects from entering.

FLOOR TRAP Allows water to escape into the waste water pipe line into the gully trap or manhole. It also block large objects from entering the pipe line.
