MISSION: Educating effective business and professional leaders by bringing the world into the classroom and the classroom into the world.
Dear Alumni and Friends, Bringing the world into the classroom and the classroom into the world –– that’s the College of Business and Public Administration’s commitment to our students. And that’s exactly what we’re doing each day on campus as our outstanding faculty and staff prepare future Drake graduates to become the business leaders of tomorrow. Since joining the CBPA as dean in 2003, I have been privileged to be a part of the changes that are benefiting our students, faculty and alumni as well as the greater Des Moines community. In recent years the CBPA has enjoyed record enrollment, added new programs, honored faculty who have received prestigious awards and produced graduates who obtain career employment upon graduation. Additional activities having a positive impact on our students and faculty include: • Increased support from alumni and corporations for scholarships and event sponsorships have provided important resources for new initiatives and programming that directly benefit our students. • Development of new speaker series including the Executive in Residence program J.W. Paquette Young Alumni speaker series, as well as our annual CBPA Awards and Recognition Banquet –– events that continue to advance our mission and expose Drake students to business leaders from around the world. • Tailoring our graduate and certificate programs to the needs of the business community have resulted in greater learning experiences for many top executives in central Iowa. • Renovations to Aliber Hall, including the Wells Fargo Career and Professional Development Center and the Lee Flory Accounting Resource Lab, which further enhance the CBPA’s educational environment and offerings. We are committed to helping our students develop leadership skills, values and ethics –– all essential for success in today’s business climate. Our programs are innovative and offer the best learning opportunity to a growing number of students. We rely heavily on our relationships with local, regional and national alumni and businesses to benefit our students.
VISION: To be a provider of choice for professional
