Applied Sport and Exercise Science with Coaching Subject Specific Assessment Criteria A. Students are expected to have Knowledge and Understanding (max 6) knowledge and understanding of the theoretical topics studied. They are also expected to be able to use this knowledge and understanding critically, and apply it to analyse situations and solve problems . B. Students are expected to be able to Coaching Performance (max 6) demonstrate attributes of sports coaches and understand the coaching process. They should be able to communicate effectively and apply strategies to coaching situations. C. Students are expected to demonstrate Personal Engagement and positive attitudes towards course Development (max 6) content, and offer opinions and thought on topics covered in class discussion. They also need to demonstrate a willingness to take responsibility for their own physical development.

At the end of the course the students are expected to be able to: -‐ use sports science terminology and vocabulary in context -‐ demonstrate an understanding of concepts, theories, strategies, techniques , laws and rules related to a variety of sport science theories , and apply them in various contexts. At the end of the course the students are expected to be able to: -‐ understand the necessity and begin to formulate a coaching philosophy. -‐ begin to demonstrate some skills and techniques necessary to coach in a variety of situations -‐ understanding the coaching process and factors effecting the this.
