HKIA Transit Experience – 2011

Poster/Billboard Promotions

Hong Kong International Transit Experience is a free incentive to passengers who have 3-4 hours of transit time to experience Hong Kong without leaving the Airport. HKIA has decided to bring in some significant cultural experiences of Hong Kong to be experienced in the Airport.

When passengers arrive they will immediately be greeted with posters and billboards promoting the HKIA Transit Experience

This free cultural experience will see passengers drinking traditional Chinese tea, tasting Chinese food (Yum Cha), getting relaxed with a Chinese neck massage. More importantly, it aims to give passengers an opportunity to learn about the lifestyle of Hong Kong. Hong Kong International Airport hopes this Airport Transit Experience scheme will inspire passengers to come back as tourists so that they can experience Hong Kong in real life outside of the Airport.

HKIA TRANSIT EXPERIENCE


The Text Message Notification Every arriving passenger into Hong Kong Airport will automatically receive a text message welcoming him or her to Hong Kong. This message aims to be their first notice of the HKIA Transit Experience available to them.

The Mobile Website After passengers register their interests with the transit officer they will be instructed to log onto the HKIA website and begin their Transit Experience by following the link on the Homepage. Passengers simply have to look for their name and boarding pass details to bring up their activity schedule.

The Transit Experience Schedule This digital schedule provides passengers with details of their activities like activity information, session times and the location.

The Warning Message One hour prior to the passenger’s flight boarding time, a message will appear on the screen to remind them to head to their specified gate.

Sharing The Experience The final massage will ask HKIA Transit Experience passengers whether they would like to share their experience with friends and family via social networking sites such as facbook and twitter.
