Social media and its different platforms continue to grow and add new features. In 2018, Instagram introduced Instagram TV—also known as IGTV. Throughout the years, IGTV has become very popular amongst creators and is a go-to when it comes to video creation on Instagram. Other features that have been added to create more video content on social media platforms are Facebook Watch, IG Live and FB Live. In this guide, we will go through the benefits of IGTV, IG Live and FB Live, plus how to use these tools.

IGTV Just like turning on the TV, IGTV starts playing as soon as you open Instagram. You can like and comment on videos and send them to your friends via direct message. Unlike photos, IGTV videos can be uploaded on your desktop. Follow the steps below to upload an IGTV via your computer: 1. Log into your account and click on IGTV. 2. Click on the blue ‘Upload’ button.

3. Then click on the blue ‘+’ icon to upload your video. To upload video content to your IGTV, your video must be between 1 and 60 minutes long. You can add details to your video, such as a title and description, as well as tag people in your description using the @ symbol. If you have connected your page to your Instagram account, you can also share your video directly to

followers. This monetisation places ads in IGTV videos. These ads will be inserted only after people watch an IGTV preview in their main feeds. After the 15-second preview has ended, you’ll need to tap the ‘’Continue watching’’ option in order

INSTAGRAM

Instagram Live allows users to stream video to their followers and interact with them in real time. The way you can see that someone is live on Instagram is when a ring highlights their Instagram profile. This helps other users to know if it’s a simple IG Story or if that user is currently on livestream.

Here are some tips on how you can use Instagram Live for your account:

PRODUCT MARKETING: Promote products through demos or tutorials.

ECOMMERCE: Alert followers to a limited time offer or sale.

Using Instagram Live

1. Prepare to stream the video: Determine when you want to broadcast. Announce the start time in advance to increase the chance users will view your video. Set up the products, people or props you will feature.

2. Select the camera icon or swipe right while in your Instagram feed. 3. Choose Live > Start Live Video. You can also add a filter by tapping on the emoji icon. 4. Tap ‘End’ to stop the stream.

BRANDING: Show the behind-the-scenes of your day to day routine or use your specific hashtags. LEAD GENERATION: Generate leads through usersubmitted questions, leading to your website and more.

With Instagram Live, you can share a replay of your livestream to your IGTV. You can engage much more with your followers in real time. They can leave comments throughout the live session and interact with you in your live video by joining the conversation. Users have the option to send you a request to join your live video. If you accept the request, they will be on the screen with you.
