MODULE 1 – LESSON 4 1 Using LinkedIn to grow your Network Marketing business
Beginner
LINKEDIN The Network Marketing industry has shown that through Social Networking platforms it can be very successful for upcoming or established business owners. LinkedIn has shown the opportunity that they offer to businesses that most people were unfortunately not aware of. With this lesson, you’ll discover how you can use your LinkedIn account effectively in order to grow your business and generate more leads.
More and more people now visit LinkedIn not only for job searches but also for entertainment, information and news about other companies. Take this opportunity and build awareness for your brand as well. Get started with following steps in order to establish strategic partnerships with serious business people.

LINKEDIN 1ST STEP: ENHANCE YOUR LINKEDIN PROFILE As for any other social platform, your profile is basically your resume. Make sure to represent yourself well for other people to find you but also wanting to get in touch with you. When updating your profile think about the target audience you want to attract. Do you wish to recruit team members or mostly sell and promote products? Make sure to make a list with your target audience and start updating your profile. Be professional and use your correct name and a high-quality profile picture. You also want to fill in your profile with as much info as possible:

•
Work experience: try to be as accurate as possible
•
And as a distributor state your YL ID in your description as well
•
If you use the YL logo, then it should also be the “Independent Distributor” logo.
•
Location of your business
•
Opening hours (if applicable)
LINKEDIN It might seem strange to do this in the beginning stages as you are not specifically applying for a job. But it is important for people to know who you are and to slightly get to know you because this will help them to create a connection to you and build trust with your person already. Always keep in mind that people want to see the professional side of you, and that you want to attract new potential people or generate more sales for your business.

LINKEDIN 2ND STEP: CONNECT WITH PEOPLE WHO FOLLOW THE SAME INTERESTS AS YOU When connecting with people, start off with your own contact list. Invite your current and former colleagues, members of your team and other people you have done business with in the past. Add people who would fit into your target audience and start interacting with them. You need to start focusing on the message you want to bring across, that way other people who share the same interest or find a benefit in your business will connect with you. Don’t hesitate to also send out invites to people who would fit your target audience to connect. In order to see whether they fit to your target audience, look at their profile and their interests or the connections they already have.
TIP As soon as someone accepts your invitation to connect, or reaches out to connect with you, send them a little welcome message. Remember to provide value first before you ask for anything. Also, thank people for reaching out and offer a brief statement about who you are and your purpose.

LINKEDIN 3RD STEP: START PROMOTING YOUR PRODUCTS AND SERVICES Publish articles for example about your business and let people know what your business is about. Of course, you can add a personal touch to the content you post but make sure to stay compliant and create interest for the people who you are connected with on LinkedIn. Develop yourself as a ‘Go To’ resource where people feel comfortable enough to contact you to get the ideas and the information they need. Like other social platforms, LinkedIn as well has timeframes when you should post and at what time. According to their findings, these are the best days to post content on LinkedIn. •
Between Tuesday and Thursday
•
Early in the morning
• Lunchtime •
Early evening
•
Between 10am and 11am on Tuesday
NOTE These times can vary between different profiles. But you can see for yourself whether these times are most suitable for yourself. PRIMARY LOGO

LINKEDIN Another way to generate leads and drive people to your profile are LinkedIn groups. LinkedIn groups are the key for a successful business. It’s important that you engage with the people in the group you are in. Also, make sure to enter a group that is relevant to your field of business. With Young Living being in the Health and Wellness industry and Essential Oils industry (category “Alternative Health and Wellness industry and Essential Oils industry” on Facebook/Instagram), look out for groups with topics in this field. It is of course advised to reach out to groups that aren’t specifically in the Wellness industry. If you’d like to be part of a group from another field, make sure that your messaging is suitable for that group. Make sure to undertake some research before joining. In order to gain visibility in your chosen group make sure to ask and answer to questions. THINGS TO LOOK OUT WHEN JOINING A LINKEDIN GROUP: •
Check the activity meter: you wouldn’t want to join a group that isn’t active, and nobody interacts when you post something
•
Join groups from your field: you may also join other groups but be sure to stay relevant in your shared content
These action points will help you to create active engagement instead of passive engagement. With active engagement you give people the opportunity to engage with you and to start conversations.

LINKEDIN HERE IS A HANDY SUMMARY FOR SETTING UP YOUR LINKEDIN PROFILE:
1. Make your profile public
Verify your account settings, and make sure that your profile is visible for the public. This simple change will allow you to show up in searches and be spotted.
2. Keep your location updated This will improve accuracy when someone searches for keywords like, “ätherische Öle Munich Deutschland”. This step isn’t just beneficial if you’re looking to engage with people or simply be searchable for customers/members; it’s also one way to take your online network offline. It will give others the possibility to know you live in their city and maybe from there you could PRIMARY LOGO

LINKEDIN 5. Keep your profile picture updated According to LinkedIn, profiles with headshots are 14 times more likely to be viewed than those without a profile picture. Your headshot should be clear, professional and only include you. So, take the time to browse through your phone for any photos like that.
6. Add (or update) contact information Make sure your email, phone number (if you feel comfortable), website and other—professional!—social media platforms are listed on your profile. Remember: LinkedIn InMail is only available to Premium users, and you want to make sure anyone can contact you about great opportunities.
