Can I fly to the first city then pick up my Rail Vacation package and then fly home from a different city? Yes, absolutely! You can take the Amtrak train one way and then fly home from a different city. This is very popular with our Independent Rail Vacations and our Rail and Sail Vacation packages.
Can I add on additional sightseeing activities and/or additional hotel nights to one of your Rail Vacation packages? Yes, you can add additional sightseeing activities and/or hotel nights to most existing rail vacation packages we offer. There are a couple ways to do this.

How long before the train departs should I be at the station? The recommended arrival time for each station varies, but plan to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled departure. If you need help with baggage, tickets or any other services, or if you are departing from a large or busy station, we recommend you arrive at the station even earlier. To confirm your train will be arriving on time, please call 1-800-USA-RAIL.
