WHAT INFORMATION DO YOU REQUIRE AT THE TIME OF BOOKING? All passenger first and last names, and all dates of birth, are required at the time of booking. Certain train providers will require passport information.

CAN I CUSTOMIZE MY TRIP? Absolutely. We can add hotel nights to give you extra time to explore your destination, or add in additional destinations to help you discover new ones! We can also add transfers for ultimate ease and convenience and have an extensive range of sightseeing options so you can make the most of your trip. Just speak with our Rail Experts and we’ll start creating the perfect rail vacation for you.

CAN YOU RECOMMEND THE MOST SCENIC ROUTE TO GET TO MY DESTINATION? We’re always advocates of taking the scenic route! With so much to see from the train windows on all our rail vacations, you’re in for a treat. If there’s a different route you could take for some extra special scenery, we’ll be excited to let you know!

CAN I UPGRADE TO FIRST-CLASS RAIL ON SOME OR EVEN ALL OF MY TRAIN JOURNEYS? You certainly can. We know that many of our customers like to upgrade some or all of their train journeys to first-class. Upgrading will give you a larger seat, more legroom and even a meal and drinks on certain routes. To find out more, please speak with one of our Rail Experts who will tell you the advantages of first class on your specific route.

CAN I TAKE A RAIL VACATION THAT YOU OFFER IN REVERSE? Yes! We can offer a reverse option on any of our itineraries. If you are already planned to be in one destination and would like to visit cities on one of our packages in a different order or start/finish in a different location, please call us and speak with a Rail Expert.

WHERE ARE YOUR HOTELS LOCATED? Our hotels are centrally located within each city we offer. Most are within a short distance of local sights and/or your railway stations.

HOW MUCH LUGGAGE CAN I BRING? In general, each passenger can take two items of luggage plus one personal item. There are no weight restrictions - just remember you’ll need to carry everything!

CAN I ADD ON ADDITIONAL SIGHTSEEING OR ADDITIONAL HOTEL NIGHTS? Yes, you can add additional sightseeing activities and/or hotel nights to most existing rail vacation packages we offer. When you speak with a Rail Expert, request an explanation of the upgrade options to your vacation package as you wish. Additional charges may apply.

AM I ABLE TO TRAVEL ON MY CHOICE OF DATES? There are no set departure dates with our vacations, with the exception of private train journeys such as the Venice Simplon-OrientExpress. Most trains will run every day, which means our vacations do too!

CAN I CHOOSE MY TRAIN TIMES? Our packages don’t have set departure times, and if there is a train running when there are multiple trains a day, your Rail Expert will be able to talk you through the different departures. If there’s a particularly convenient time or a departure that will ensure you catch the best scenery, we’ll be sure to recommend it.

HOW LONG BEFORE THE TRAIN DEPARTS SHOULD I BE AT THE STATION? With the exception of Eurostar, which has a 45-minute check-in time, there is no official check-in required for train journeys in Europe or North America. Of course, we always recommend arriving at the station in plenty of time.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY TRAVEL DOCUMENTS? After we receive full payment, travel documents will be sent to you approximately 21 days prior to your departure.

On arrival in Sorrento, check in for a three-night stay at your hotel.

DAY 4 - SORRENTO DAY 1 - ARRIVE IN ROME On arrival, check in to your hotel for a two-night stay. Enjoy two days exploring Europe’s largest open air museum. Take a tour of the Vatican to discover the fascinating stories behind the smallest country in the world. Be sure not to miss the impressive Landwasser Viaduct, which will appear on your right just before Filisur, an hour outside of St Moritz. The train climbs up the 7,391 feet high Bernina Pass and the entire trip is narrated. Food is available to buy on the train. This whole area is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The line finishes in the Italian border town of Tirano and, after time for a bite to eat, you board the train back to Chur.

DAY 2 - INTERLAKEN Take a trip up the famous Jungfrau Mountain and travel to one of the highest train stations in Europe. Travel through tunnels made of solid Alpine rock, before arriving at the Jungfraujoch. Enjoy breathtaking views to the Vosges Mountains in France and the Black Forest in Germany. The Great Aletsch Glacier, at 22km the longest in the Alps, begins on the Jungfrau Mountain. Jungfraujoch

CHANGES TO RAIL TICKETS If you make a change after travel documents are issued, you may need new travel documents. YLG charges a re-ticketing fee when it is necessary to reissue physical rail tickets. VISA & PASSPORTS You are responsible for obtaining and paying for all visas and passports, for meeting all health and other requirements, and for any documents required by the laws, regulations, order and/ or requirements of the countries you will visit. Non-U.S. citizens must consult the appropriate consulates to determine if any visas are needed; you are responsible for obtaining all visas and entry documents independently. YLG is not responsible for providing you with specific visa and passport information or documentation, for any fees associated with obtaining these documents, and YLG cannot accept liability for any passenger refused entry onto any transport or into any country due to failure of the passenger to carry correct documentation. All passengers traveling internationally are required to have a passport. Most countries require that the passport be valid for at least six (6) months beyond the conclusion of your trip. It is recommended you have a minimum of three blank pages in your passport when traveling, as many countries require blank pages. Multiple-entry visas are required for some vacations. It is your responsibility to verify all visa and passport requirements. The process of obtaining a visa and/or passport can take up to three months or more. Some government agencies in foreign countries require YLG to collect and pass on certain personal and other details related to you, including but not limited to government-issued identification and passport details. If you fail to supply the details as requested fully and accurately, your trip may be interrupted or cancelled. There are no refunds for failure to provide documentation or failure to provide documentation by the time required. To enter and leave the United States, all U.S. citizens must carry proof of citizenship such as a valid passport. Noncitizens must have a valid passport, visa or alien card that permits travel outside the United States. A “multiple entry” visa for return to the U.S. may be required. You are responsible for obtaining and paying for any visa, passport or documentation needed. Passengers traveling outside the United States must provide date of birth, citizenship and passport information at the time of reservation. Railbookers

is not responsible for any passenger that is denied entry into another Country. If the remaining portion of the trip must be cancelled, the passenger is subject to the cancellation fees noted above and is responsible for all fees to return home. PRICE POLICY All vacation prices are based on rates known at the time of publication and expected to be in effect at the time of departure, and do not include airfare or rail from your home gateway. Nor shall they be liable for loss or damage to baggage or property, or for injury, illness or death, or for any damages or claims whatsoever arising from loss, negligence or delay from the act, error, omission default or negligence of any person not its direct employee or under its exclusive control, including any act, error, omission, default, or negligence of any country, government or governmental authority, officer or employee. The released parties shall not be liable for indirect, special or consequential damages. All baggage and personal effects are at all times and in all circumstances at the risk of the guided vacation/holiday participant. YLG recommends that guest obtain baggage insurance. The Operators, carriers, hotels and other suppliers who provide services on your vacation/holiday are independent contractors; they are not agents, employees or servants of YLG or its associated companies. All certificates and other travel documents for services issued by the Operator(s) are subject to the terms and conditions specified by the carriers and suppliers and to the laws of the countries in which the services are supplied. The released parties are not responsible for any criminal or other conduct by third parties, whether criminal, intentional, grossly negligent, negligent or otherwise.

This release of liability and assumption of risk agreement is entered into on behalf of you and all members of your family and party, also including minors accompanying you. EVENTS BEYOND OUR CONTROL - FORCE MAJEURE Except where otherwise expressly stated in these booking conditions we will not be liable or pay you compensation if our contractual obligations to you are affected by any event which we or the supplier(s) of the service(s) in question could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. These events can include, but are not limited to war, threat of war, civil strife, terrorist activity and its consequences or the threat of such activity, riot, the act of any government or other national or local authority including port or river authorities, industrial dispute, lock closure, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, chemical or biological disaster and adverse weather, sea, ice and river conditions and all similar events outside our or the supplier(s) control. Advice from the Department of State to avoid or leave a particular country may constitute Force Majeure. We will follow the advice given by the Department of State.
