WHAT INFORMATION DO YOU REQUIRE AT THE TIME OF BOOKING? All passenger first and last names, and all dates of birth, are required at the time of booking. Certain train providers will require passport information.

We can also add transfers for ultimate ease and convenience and have an extensive range of sightseeing options so you can make the most of your trip. Just speak with our Rail Experts and we’ll start creating the perfect rail vacation for you.
CAN YOU RECOMMEND THE MOST SCENIC ROUTE TO GET TO MY DESTINATION? We’re always advocates of taking the scenic route! With so much to see from the train windows on all our rail vacations, you’re in for a treat. If there’s a different route you could take for some extra special scenery, we’ll be excited to let you know!
CAN I UPGRADE TO FIRST CLASS RAIL ON SOME OR EVEN ALL OF MY TRAIN JOURNEYS? You certainly can. We know that many of our customers like to upgrade some or all of their train journeys to first class. Upgrading will give you a larger seat, more legroom and even a meal and drinks on certain routes. To find out more information, please speak with one of our Rail Experts who will tell you the advantages of first class on your specific route.
CAN I TAKE A RAIL VACATION THAT YOU OFFER IN REVERSE? Yes! We can offer a reverse option on any of our itineraries. CAN I CHOOSE MY TRAIN TIMES? Our packages don’t have set departure times, and if there is a train running when there are multiple trains a day, your Rail Expert will be able to talk you through the different departures. If there’s a particularly convenient time or a departure that will ensure you catch the best scenery, we’ll be sure to recommend it.
HOW LONG BEFORE THE TRAIN DEPARTS SHOULD I BE AT THE STATION? With the exception of Eurostar, which has a 45-minute check-in time, there is no official check-in required for train journeys in Europe or North America. Of course, we always recommend arriving at the station in plenty of time.

DAY 1 - ARRIVE IN ROME Arrive in Rome today and check in at your hotel. Enjoy two days exploring Europe’s largest open air museum. Shrouded in legend, Rome is home to hundreds of ancient artifacts, architecture, beautiful churches and Basilicas such as St. Peter’s and St. Martin’s. Take a tour of the Vatican to discover the fascinating stories behind the smallest country in the world. Stop for a delicious Italian ice-cream in one of the pretty cafés by the Trevi fountain and then walk in the footsteps of gladiators at the famous Colosseum. You might even like to have your photo taken with one of the slightly more modern gladiators outside!
DAY 2 - ROME After breakfast, pay a visit to the Spanish Steps or stroll through the wide open spaces of the Villa Borghese. Spend your evenings sampling the delicious Italian cuisine
of Rome. Stop for a traditional woodoven pizza in one of the charming trattorias, or enjoy beautiful homemade pasta and regional desserts such as ricotta cake, made with fresh ricotta cheese mixed with sugar, vanilla and candied fruits.
DAY 3 - ROME TO SORRENTO After breakfast, make your way to the station and travel from Rome to Naples. From Naples, take a private railway line (the Circumvesuviana) down to Sorrento. The train passes towns and villages with beautifully poetic names such as Piano, Castellammare and Pompei Scavi. It’s a tiny, regional line so tickets must be purchased locally. You can also travel by boat from Naples to Sorrento (also payable locally) during the summer months, or speak to our Rail Experts about arranging a private car transfer from Naples to Sorrento. Upon arrival in Sorrento, check in for a three night stay at your hotel.
Sorrento, the city of orange and lemon groves, is one of the most beautiful destinations in Europe. Many invaders have passed through the city over the generations - the Etruscans, the Greeks, the Romans and later the Normans. The peninsula has also been home to some of the great English poets such as Byron and Keats. Take a walk through the town to discover the lovely piazzas and sample a glass of Limoncello liqueur or some traditional Sorrentine cuisine at a local restaurant. Explore Via San Nicola and the numerous other pretty streets, lined with shops selling leather, handmade gifts, spices and traditional chinaware.
DAY 5 - SORRENTO Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then why not take a boat to the glamorous island of Capri - home to celebrities, designer boutiques and delicious ice cream cafés, just 30 minutes from Sorrento’s harbor.

CHANGES A fee of $25 per person (per change) will be charged by YLG for any alteration or revision made to a reservation after deposit or payment is received. Any revision made to a booking (including but not limited to rail changes or name changes) may result in the loss of the confirmed rail seat or Sleeping car accommodations. Changes after documents and tickets are issued will be treated as cancellations, there is no refund permitted on rail tickets once they have been issued. If you make a change after travel documents are issued, you may need new travel documents. YLG charges a reticketing fee when it is necessary to reissue rail tickets. Before new tickets can be issued, the original tickets must be returned at your expense by a traceable delivery service to Yankee Leisure Group, Attention: Ticketing, 500 Cummings Center, Suite 3100, Beverly, MA 01915-9959. Note: Certain arrangements may not be amended after they have been confirmed and any alteration could incur a cancellation charge of up to 100% of that part of the arrangements.

REFUNDS Please note that any request for refunds is subject to the Terms and Conditions; no refund will be made for unused services of less than 48 consecutive hours, unused transportation where group activity tickets are involved, or for voluntary modifications made by the traveler.
TRAVEL PROTECTION OPTION (TPO) Travel Protection Option (TPO) allows you to cancel your Railbookers arrangements for any reason up to noon Eastern Time on the last business day prior to the first services offered by Railbookers. Important: The TPO must be purchased at time of booking, or when deposit is paid, and is nonrefundable and nontransferable. Carefully read the Cancellation Waiver & Insurance Plan by following the link in your invoice. The TPO does not cover cancellation or “no shows” on the day of departure. A “no show” is defined as a failure to notify Railbookers of a cancellation prior to noon Eastern Time on the last business day prior to departure. Note: The TPO does not cover any single supplement charges which arise from an individual’s traveling companion electing to cancel for any reason prior to departure. In this case, the single supplement will be deducted from the refund of the person who cancels. Division of this charge between the two passengers involved is solely their responsibility. If insufficient funds are deducted from the canceling client, the traveling client will be charged the remaining portion of the single supplement. Payment of TPO (if chosen) must be received by Railbookers with your Deposit. The TPO is nontransferable and valid for each applicant only. When a cancellation is made, the claim will be handled in this manner: Cancellations made before noon Eastern Time on the last business day prior to the first services offered by Railbookers will receive refunds in the form of travel vouchers.
To cancel your vacation prior to departure, contact your travel agent who will notify Railbookers or call us during normal business hours, which are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time. It is recommended you have a minimum of three blank pages in your passport when traveling, as many countries require blank pages. Multiple-entry visas are required for some vacations.
