Objectives: To know about artists in Egypt. Requirements: Each student is required to select an artist from Egypt of their choice and signup the selection sheet ASAP (first come, first serve!). The assignment is to prepare one A1 poster on an artist. The poster should cover: The artists’ life and historical context: when and where the artist was born? places this person lived during their lifetime and how those locations affected their work? Information about family life; what was their relationship with their parents, did they have brothers or sisters, were they married, did they have children of their own? How this person became interested in art? any other interesting/pertinent information you may find. The artist’s work: his/her style and technique, development of style, discussion of his/her most famous works, the most influential people in his/her life.
Objectives • Link the artist’s life and historical context to his work: development of style to identify key links and relationships, how he/she affected or changed the art world, develop a timeline that relates the artist’s life to his/her work, other interesting points that are found in the course of researching the artist • A bibliography listing the sources used in research. • A presentation of the poster will be part of students' assessment. • Be creative! "Teach" classmates about the artist, find unusual or interesting points to make about it. Be sure to use the appropriate vocabulary that we introduced during the course.
