GO OUT ON A LIMB
Choose from a variety of activities that require multiple attempts to master, prompting campers to face their fears, head-on. KIDS DISCOVER THEIR COMPETENCE AND CONFIDENCE WHEN THEY TRY, AND TRY AGAIN, AND ACHIEVE. Developing the camp spirit is also an important part of each child’s experience. Before and after crazy, fun packed days, we take time for reflection and gratitude. WHEN YOUTH UNPLUG FROM TECHNOLOGY, THEY INVEST IN EACH OTHER. We encourage an environment of authenticity so campers are free to be themselves.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Do you provide transportation? • You can either drop your child off directly at camp on Possum Kingdom Lake, or they can ride our bus from the SMU campus. We transport from DFW & Love Field Airports too.
Is Financial Assistance available? • We work hard at raising money every year to provide scholarships for every child who wants to attend camp. For more info and to start the application process, email: LCUETO@YMCADALLAS.ORG

How can I keep up with my child while they are at camp? • Every night we upload photos to a password protected site. We also post photos onto our social media pages each week. More details in our Parent Handbook on how you can contact your camper. You are also welcome to mail letters! Have more questions we didn’t answer here? Give us a call! WHY CHOOSE SPRUCE? Take Notes, Parents!
• Campers are unplugged from technology, interacting and engaging with their peers, awesome role-models and the great outdoors. • Camp provides developmental experiences in fun ways to help our campers and counselors gain individuality, build confidence, and thrive as the person they are. • As a YMCA camp, we have a strong Christian heritage. We welcome all who wish to participate, letting parents be the teachers of the faith, and staff serve as role models, teaching how all can live, work, play and celebrate together in a community.
