with roughly 24% of members earning a household income under $20,000
• Employs 6,043 staff who earn salaries
and wages totaling $40.2 million
2018 REACH & IMPACT THE YMCA OF GREATER CHARLOTTE: • Gave away $22.2 million in direct • Served1,072*students in Y Readers at 12 partner
financial assistance • $14.8 million in membership and program assistance, and $7.4 million to support third-grade reading and child and teen development initiatives
school sites across three school districts
• Supported 220 families through Parents as Teachers to ensure parents are supported and kids are kindergarten-ready
• Was visited 4,888,832 times by members
• Delivered life-saving water safety instruction for 1,020*
• Kept 2,170 kids engaged through afterschool
and guests across our 19 branches
programming, and14,887 campers active during the summer at overnight and day camps
• Stood in the gap for1,820 teens who participated in our expanded year-round Level Up program
children at 30 low-income apartment complexes through Safety Around Water, and engaged another12,643 adults and children in swim lessons
