AQUATICS INFORMATION
PARENT/ CHILD SWIM LESSON
PRESCHOOL
Swim Level Placement:
6 Months - age 3 | F: $44 M: $58 N: $89
Ages 3 - 6 | F: $45 M: $70 N: $90
Placement evaluations can be made at any time for anyone unsure of their current swim level. For more information, please contact Aquatics Coordinator Matthew Alessi at malessi@metronorthymca.org.
Regulations:
Per state health code regulations, all swimmers must shower prior to entering the pool. While in the pool, all swimmers are required to wear swim caps. Only swim wear designed to be in water may be worn.
Refunds:
Refunds must be requested within the first week of each session. Payment is non-refundable after the first week.
Parent/Child A: 6-18 months w/ parent
Parents learn water safety, holds and towing techniques that encourage basic kicking, pulling and water independence for children. Swim diapers must be worn. Fri: 9:50am-10:20am Sat: 10:10am-10:40am
Parent/Child B: 19 - Age 3 w/ parent
Toddlers are introduced to submerging, kicking and pulling combinations, floating and swimming without flotation. Swim diapers must be worn for children not potty trained. Fri: 9:50am-10:20am Sat: 10:30am-11:00am
Make Up Classes:
Should the YMCA cancel a lesson, a make-up lesson will be scheduled. If the YMCA is unable to schedule a make-up class, a credit will be provided. If a student does not attend a class, there will be no make-up or refund for that class.
Open and Family Swim:
For information regarding open and/or family swim times please refer to our pool schedule. Current pool schedules can be found at the welcome center or online at ymcametronorth.org. For a full list of pool policies, please refer to the reverse side of the pool schedule or our website.
Swimmers must swim 5 feet without assistance or flotation and fully submerge their face in the water to enter this class. Level 4:
Group Swim Lessons:
Parents and visitors of swim participants are warmly welcomed on deck during swim lessons for the first and last week of each session. All other classes will be closed to spectators. Pictures and videos are strictly prohibited in the pool area.
Level 2:
Swimmers must swim 20 feet or about three quarters the width of the pool without flotation to enter this class. Develops intermediate self-rescue skills performed at longer distances than in previous stages. This class will be using the deep end of the pool. If the Lynn Public Schools are closed due to inclement weather, swim classes will also be cancelled.

Each group swim lesson requires a minimum of 3 swimmers in order to run. Classes with less than 3 swimmers signed up will be combined with another class or cancelled.

Aquatics Stretch: FREE for members!

Lap Swim & Open Swim:
FREE for Members! Lap swim is available for ages 15+. Open swim is available to all ages. Children 6 and younger MUST be accompanied by a supervising adult in the water within arm’s reach. Youth Basketball League:
The Lynn YMCA YBL is a basketball program for boys and girls from age 4-14 years old. Learn the fundamentals of the game through practices and gameplay. Children will learn valuable life skills including teamwork, sportsmanship, and self confidence. Uniforms will be provided. GPA Study Group:Grades 3+
FREE to the community! Tutors are present to assist with school work and academic skill development. There are activities related to improving reading, writing, computer and communication skills. Leaders Club:FREE with middle school or
family membership! Leaders club is a Middle School aged afterschool drop-in program. Organized activities include: leadership development, community service learning, music studio, team building, fitness activities, mentoring, fun games, sports, swimming, and field trips. The Youth will move through the YMCA between activities without direct supervision. Mon-Fri: 3:00pm-6:00pm
Hip Hop Dance Class:
Grades 3+ | FREE to the community! Move to the beat with members of the In The Makin’ (ITM) Dance and Step Team! Come learn different styles of hip hop dance in a fun nojudgement atmosphere. Mon: 5:30-6:30pm
Growing in the Greenhouse:

Rock Wall Wednesday:
Grades 3+ | FREE to the community! Challenge yourself on our indoor rock climbing wall. Compete against your friends and play interactive games. Students will be encouraged each week to complete individual and group climbing goals. Wed: 5:30pm-6:30pm
Family Kickball:
FREE every 3rd Friday of the month! Kick it with your family by playing a timeless game of kickball. This is sure to bring family fun for all ages. Kickball resembles baseball, but is played with an inflated ball which is kicked instead of being hit with a bat. Fri: 4:30pm-5:30pm
Kids Night Out: $10 per child
Let your child stay late on a Friday night to enjoy a themed evening of fun-filled activities with YMCA staff, while parents get a few hours all to themselves! Students will have a chance to swim (must bring a swimsuit, towel and cap), do an art project and play board games. Permission slips are available and must be returned in advance. Kaya:
Ages 13-18 | FREE for members! Kaya means body and character. Our mission is to spark the power of youth to generate positive change. We strive to accomplish the mission through youth-led events, interactive workshops, film screenings, and creative expression. Activities focus on Healthy Living (fitness and health), Social Responsibility (volunteering and community events), and Youth Development (academic support, team building and social skills).
Music Studio Clubhouse: Ages 8-18
The Lynn Music Studio is a professional level studio offering free studio time and free music instruction to all youth. If you love music come and check out our professional quality studio with a control room, isolation booth and live rehearsal room. Improve your vocals, enhance your songwriting, get your bars up, use Logic, Maschine, and Ableton to create some classic beats and collaborate with talent from around the city! Track Stars: FREE to the community!

Lift Heavy, Look Lean:
M: $65 N: $95 Lift Heavy, Look Lean will teach strategies for getting cut and lean using free weights, barbells and personal body weight.
