The YMCA of Metro North is excited to announce the first annual YMCA of Metro North Half Marathon, the only half marathon in Peabody. The race will start at Lt. Ross Park (Cy Tenney) and proceed north on the Independence Parkway into West Peabody, winding through local neighborhoods before ultimately finishing back at Lt. Ross Park.

Have you ever wanted to complete an Ironman Event? Now is your chance! Jump into this 7 week challenge to complete an Iron Man at your pace. We will help track your swim, bike, and running distances during the challenge until you complete the true Iron Man distances. Distances: 2.5 mil swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run. Swim clinic to be held Saturday, September 10th 9:00-10:00am to get started. Member: $20

The final step in our Parent/Child series. In addition to beginner swimming, basic water adjustment and safety skills will also be introduced. In this class children learn to love the water and prepare to be independent to join our preschool swimming classes without an adult. TREASURE HUNTERS

A swim class with a Pirate Treasure Hunters Theme! Children will learn basic swim skills and pool safety while using maps and games to uncover clues that will lead to the hidden Pirate treasure! This class is for the child who has little or no experience. PRE-TEAM FINS PROGRAM These classes are designed for swimmers who are interested in learning the skills needed for competitive swimming and taught in a team format. The focus of the Fins Swim Program will be on stroke development, technique, and racing starts and turns. Swimmers should be able to swim one length of the pool freestyle and backstroke with no assistance & tread for at least 1 minute. Swimmers should own their own pair of flippers and goggles.

TRACK & FIELD (ages 3-5)

Help your child learn how to run, jump, throw and compete as we offer instruction and practice in the fundamentals of the sport. Friday: 10:00-10:45am

YOUTH SOCCER II (ages 6-7)

JUMP SHOTS (ages 5-8)

TRACK CLUB (Ages 7+)

Speed, accuracy and teamwork will be taught to improve fitness. Game is similar to paintball or laser tag. Tuesday: 4:15-5:00pm

FREE to the Community! Train with a track star! Youth track and field is designed to provide children with training that includes sprints, middle and long distance running, and relays. This program is geared towards children who are looking to improve their track ability and prepare for the upcoming season. Small group size will allow for more one on one training. DODGEBALL (ages 7-10)

KETTLE BELL CLASS

Get shredded with a whole body workout using Kettlebells. Work arms, shoulders, back, glutes, legs and core while developing stamina and flexibility. Tuesday: 5:30–6:30pm

BIRTHDAY PARTIES MELROSE YMCA

Swimmers must pass a swim test to swim in the deep end. Two adults will need to remain with the party at all times. Pool parties take place from 1:00pm-2:30pm on Saturday and Sunday. 1st Friday of Month The Common Ground is open and FREE to all Melrose teens in grades 6-8 and is located at the Melrose Y. Qualified staff supervise the center and coordinate activities. The center offers a safe environment for teens to hang out with friends and provides billiards, ping pong, air hockey, video games, computers, and so much more. A full size gym is used for basketball, dodge ball, volleyball and other games. Each Common Ground night will feature a new theme and pizza will be provided!
