Y summer camps are for everyone – regardless of income. The Y provides financial assistance for families who are unable to pay the full camp fee. Subsidies are available thanks to the generous support of “Y For All” annual donors and United Way contributions. Contact your local Y or visit our website at www.northshoreymca.org for a confidential financial assistance application or to make a contribution. Applications should be submitted at least two weeks prior to the start of the camp session to allow for processing.

Registration

The YMCA of the North Shore makes registering and paying for camp easy and convenient. Parents can register in person at the front desk or online and can choose from one of the three following payment methods: • Pay in full at the time of registration. • Use our convenient E-pay system and we’ll automatically draft either a credit/debit card or checking account 7 days prior to the start of your camp session. Never worry about remembering to pay! Secure your spot with a $25 deposit which can be credited for other camps or programs up until 7 days prior to the start of the camp session. • Pay a $25 non-refundable deposit at time of registration and then pay the balance at least 7 days prior to the start of camp. An emergency phone number and email contact are required at time of registration.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

Prior to the start of camp, registration cancellations will receive a refund minus the $25 deposit fee. Exceptions made only if accompanied by a doctor’s note. Families on E-pay may make changes up to 7 days prior to the start of camp without penalty. Once a camp session has commenced, to receive a refund, cancellation requests must be accompanied with a doctor’s note. Refunds will be granted for the days remaining in the session only.

Camp Change Policy

All camp changes must be done in writing and submitted to the camp registrar. • Families on E-Pay will receive free changes as needed throughout the camp season. • Families not on E-Pay receive one free change and will be charged a fee of $15 per change per camper after that.

100% SATISFACTION GUARANTEE

We want you to be completely satisfied. My staff and I strive to provide the best quality summer camp experience you and your family desire. Please contact me directly if your experience does not meet or exceed your expectations.

Since 1963, YMCA Camp Spindrift has been a magical part of the summer for literally thousands and thousands of local children; and before that, at the Y’s Camp LN Earl, also in West Gloucester. Summer camp can be so much more than a few weeks of fun while school is out; it’s the opportunity to try new activities, learn skills and develop lifelong friendships and cherished memories. Thank you for your interest in our Y Camp Spindrift. We strive daily to ensure Spindrift is recognized as one of the finest camps you will find anywhere. The Spindrift Family is tight knit and to our philosophy. It is this strong dedication among campers, alumni and staff that produces a strong return rate year after year. I hope you and your family will choose Camp Spindrift this year and share in “A Summer of Fun – A Lifetime of Memories”. Camp Spindrift programs foster cooperation rather than competition as a means of growth. At Camp Spindrift we place a very strong emphasis on creating a setting where all children feel safe exploring new ideas and learning about their world. Making new friendships and renewing the old is an integral component of our collective success…it’s what keep all of us coming back year after year. I thank you for considering YMCA Camp Spindrift and fully appreciate the trust you have that we will provide a safe and fun experience for your child; that is our first and foremost goal. We strive for excellence daily to provide our campers and families with the best care possible. I hope you’ll choose us to provide the Spindrift Experience for your family this summer. Health & prosperity, Rick Doucette

We are super-excited to announce that KESTREL EDUCATIONAL ADVENTURES will be with us all summer long at Y Camp Spindrift! With two professional Naturalists on-site with us for two days each and every week, we very much look forward to this dynamic expansion of our Spindrift Curriculum as we learn more about the rich natural surroundings at Spindrift! Based out of Gloucester, Massachusetts, Kestrel Educational Adventures is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving primarily communities within Eastern Essex County. Originally founded as an all-volunteer nature program for Gloucester school groups, Kestrel has grown dramatically in our reach, services, and partnerships over the last 12 years. We have built partnerships with every public elementary school on Cape Ann and Beverly, along with some middle schools and private schools throughout the North Shore.

4

We aim to improve science education by helping schools link their curriculum to the natural world around them. Kestrel works directly with our partner schools to customize our programs to each individual class. Our staff spends extensive time meeting with school administrators and classroom teachers to develop custom plans that fit the culture and academics of the schools, as well as local land reservations. www.kestreleducation.org

SUMMER LEARNING LOSS In Haverhill, where almost 15% of children live below the poverty line, our YMCA launched the Summer Learning pilot program in 2013 to keep children academically engaged all summer long. Free of charge to incoming third graders, the program is taught by certified teachers. In addition to grade-appropriate curricula, the Y provides opportunities to play and be active in our facilities as well as a free snack and lunch. Learning in a fun, hands-on enrichment program moves these kids forward in learning and decreases the ever-growing gap between low-and middle-income children.
