HIGHlIGHTS FOR FAll I: Soccer league
It’s never too early to start learning soccer! Join us Saturday mornings for soccer league. Each soccer league is age-specific and will help to teach the game of soccer. Participants will be instructed on the fundamentals of soccer including dribbling, passing and shooting. Players will be placed on teams with volunteer coaches. League meets at the O’Malley Softball field on Mill Pond Road.
Flag Football league
Touchdown!! Flag Football comes to Gloucester! This exciting youth flag football league is the safe way for kids to participate in America’s Favorite Sport! This league is a no contact 5 on 5 league. All kids will rotate positions have a fun time playing a 40 minute game each week. If your new to flag football try our add on class “Flag Football Skills”. Kids will be divided by the following age groups: Ages 5-7; Ages 7-9; Ages 10-12
100 Mile Club
Starting September 1st until October 31st, we challenge all of our members to join the 100 mile club. Swimming, rowing, walking and running are the tools to help accomplish your goal! Tracking sheets will be located on the pool deck. Finish before the 31st and receive a 100 Mile Club water bottle!
Tater Tot to Witch City
If your tater tot wants to run the Witch City 5K but, doesn’t know where to start? This training program is guaranteed to get you off the couch and across the finish line of this Haunted Happenings favorite! The Cape Ann YMCA “Couch Potato” Program has over 100 graduates! This is the perfect place for beginners to start.
Xtreme Martial Arts
Join the XMA/tricking revolution! Build the skills necessary to perform high flying acrobatic moves, kicks & combinations, while having fun with friends. Learn from a certified Hyper Martial Arts instructor in a safe & supportive environment. Hyper membership included after your first session!

PROGRAM INfORMATION PROGRAM REGISTRATION:
Our new website, launched in December, makes registering for a program easier than ever. While there are several new ways to learn about our programs and search, here are some tips: • Visit: www.northshoreymca.org • Look for the search box located on each program related page. • Search for programs by keyword, location, program area, age and day of the week. • Check off the classes you want to learn more about to read a description • Choose checkout, then sign into your account or create a new account. • Assign each program to someone on your membership. • Pay and print your receipt.
ONLINE CREDITS Online credits will be offered for the remainder of any money paid on programs. The amount refunded will be calculated at the time of the request. Credits will be offered for remaining class sessions, calculated when the request is made. You can request a credit form at the front desk or by contacting the director. CREDIT CARD OR CHECK REfuNDS The YMCA will issue a credit card or check refund: • If, for any reason, the YMCA cancels a class, participants will be offered the option for refund for that cancelled class, • If a participant cancels their registration prior to the start of the program session, • For classes missed due to illness (a doctor’s note is required) or, • If you are not 100% satisfied with your class experience. Refunds will be offered for remaining class sessions, calculated when the request is made. You can request a refund form at the front desk or by contacting the director.

At the Y, we believe all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. It makes for confident kids today and contributing and engaged adults tomorrow. When your children participate in a Y after school program, they become part of our family. The Cape Ann Y offers quality, affordable licensed care in Gloucester and Rockport where kids learn values and skills taught by caring adults. We offer a variety of clubs as well to pique every kid’s interest: Blockbuster Lego, Drama, Clay Animation, No Cook Cooking, Fit Club and many more. With programs that run from the closing bell until 6pm Monday through Friday, weekly swim time, and specials on holidays, school vacations and half days, it’s easy to see why the Y is the trusted choice for hundreds of Cape Ann families.

Ages: 12-24 months & 2-3 years with parent Fee: Y Member $57 Community $82 Music and movement exploration is a major part of the curriculum for our Parent/Tot class. Hand eye coordination and ball handling skills are developed along with small motor development. Children will also work on some gymnastics skills on the spring floor, bars, beam, trampoline, and tumble trak. This class will also focus on peer socialization and is a great place to meet other parents and guardians. Class length is 30 minutes. CAY Thursday 10:00am

Open Gymnastics
Ages: 2-3 years without parent Fee: Y Member $57 Community $82 This class is for children ready to attend class without a parent but are a little too young for Teddy Bear Tumblers. This class will not only focus on gymnastics skills, but will also touch on early childhood education. Numbers, letters, colors and social skills will be taught and reinforced throughout an introduction of gymnastics. Introduction to the beam, bars and tumbling will be the major components. Class length is 30 minutes. CAY Tuesday 10:45am
Ages: 3 years Fee: Y Member $57 Community $82 Teddy Bear Tumblers is the first step in our recreational gymnastics program. Through games, songs and activities our little gymnasts will work on the basic elements. Children will work on gross motor skills and coordination through tumbles, balancing and tricks. Kinder Gym and Swim
Ages: 3-6 years Fee: Y Member $98 Community $144 This class combines the fun in the pool and the gym! In the gym, we provide experiences which help your child develop physical and social skills. In the pool, your child will work on water adjustment, the use of flotation devices, water safety and having fun! This class starts with gymnastics followed by swimming, so we encourage children to come dressed in their bathing suits for an easy transition to swim. Class length is 90 minutes. CAY Tuesday 3:30pm

Ages: 4-12 years Fee: Y Member $57 Community $82 This class is designed for development of gymnastics skills, uneven bars, balance beam, tumbling, and tumble trak. Children work on basic gymnastics positions such as tuck, pike, straddle, squat and lunge. They will also work on skills such as handstands, cartwheels, round-offs, forward rolls and backward rolls. The children learn how to work well with others and improve their fine and gross motor skills, such as hand eye coordination and readiness while learning gymnastics. Class length is 45 minutes. Ages: 5-10 years Fee: Y Member $57 Community $82 This class is structured focusing more on gymnastics skills rather than fine motor skills with work on cartwheels, round-offs, handstands, forward and backward rolls, and kids are introduced to the bridge. Students will learn skills on uneven-bars, balance beam, spring floor, trampoline and tumble trak. Children must have passed Level 1 or have the recommendation of an instructor. Teen Tumbling
Ages: 13 years & up Fee: Y Member $62 Community $93 This class will serve as an introduction to floor tumbling. Great for dancers and cheerleaders who would like to focus on or polish their floor work using spotters and the Air Trak for practice. Back hand springs, standing tucks, and back walkovers will all be introduced in this class. The other apparatuses will not be used in this class. CAY Monday 6:15pm

Youth Intro to Fitness
Ages: 12-18 years Fee: Y Member $68 Community $102 Would you like to get your child started on the right path to fitness? This class will go above and beyond the basic orientation by performing and learning about the significance of progressive resistance, cardiovascular and flexibility training. Each class will start with a fun warm up and cover the proper use of strength training and cardiovascular equipment along with basic bodyweight exercises and stretches. Kids will also learn about basic exercise in an interactive and supportive environment. Upon completion of the program, youth will be permitted to use the fitness center according to age appropriate guidelines. Class length 45 minutes. Meets in the fitness center. CAY Monday 3:30pm
Teen Strength & Conditioning
Grades: 5-8 Fee: Y Member $70 Community $103 Increase strength, improve enduarance and build confidence in this small group setting. Workouts include the use of free weights, suspension training, body weight exercises, and much more! CAY Tuesday 4:00pm
Junior Teen Training Camp FIT-tastic Kids
Grades: 2-6 Fee: Y Member FREE Community $40 FIT-tastic Kids is a program developed by the YMCA of the North Shore to teach kids ages 8 to 14 how to eat a healthier diet and increase daily physical activity. In this FREE program participants will learn how to make healthy food choices, bring home recipes and ideas to their families to continue healthy lifestyle habits at home, and find ways to get moving throughout the day. The goal is for both kids and their families to be FIT-tastic together. FIT-tastic Kids offers flexible scheduling for each family to begin at any time. An 8-week Y youth membership is included when participating in this program. FIT-tastic Kids is free for participants and their families because of the generosity of donors and grantors.
