Pre-Team (Invitation Only)
Ages: 5 years & up This is a pre-competitive program for girls ages 5 and up. Participants must have completed Sr. Gymnast IV, or have been recommended by an instructor. Emphasis is placed on mastery of Level 3 skills, flexibility, strength and balance. Pre-Team gymnasts will learn a routine to perform at gym shows. Competitive Team Program
Ages: 5-18 years Currently the Gym Stars Gymnastics Team consists of a Level 3-7, Xcel silver & gold, Competitive Team. The gymnasts in this program are required to order a team uniform (leotard & warm up) that will be worn at meets and events. The competitive season is November through July. Gymnasts will have the opportunity to qualify for State and Regional Competitions. Ages: 13 years and older Fee: Member Benefit This program is intended for young adults who are ready to start working out, but are still too young to be on their own in the fitness center. Over the course of 3 separate orientations, our wellness coaches will work with your child in order to get them adequately trained on each piece of equipment. Each orientation will last 45 minutes in length. At the end of this orientation program, your child will graduate with the ability to use the fitness facility on their own. YMCA Rock Climbing Instruction Help provide your child with physical activity, self-confidence, and the opportunity to socialize with peers in a safe and positive environment. Teams will have 4 regular season games followed by a two week tournament. Game may be played out side at the Plaistow Community YMCA weather permitting. Teams will meet once a week for a game. Players are selected through a blind draft. Division may consist of two or more grades. Games will be played on Thursdays and Saturdays depending on the divisions. Games will be played at the Plaistow Community YMCA. The season will kick off April 30th and May 5th. Volunteer coaches are needed for this program. Free agents will be placed on a team with other free agents or on a team that needs additional players. Teams must have at least six players and no more than ten players on a team. Certification is determined by successful completion of a comprehensive written exam and water test. Swimming skills are a prerequisite and attendance in all classes is mandatory. ASHI Training
Fee: Y Member $50 Community $100 Students are trained in the nationally recognized ASHI CPR, First Aid, 02 and AED courses. Certifications are determined by successful completion of a comprehensive written exam and being able to perform all required skills. Each certification is run separately. Each class is about 3 hours long. Got Books?
Please remember to bring donated books to our Got Books container located in the Verizon parking lot. All books donated will provide funds to support youth and families of the Haverhill YMCA. We also accept any clothing donations to help support and provide for those in need within our community.
YMCA Educational Support The Haverhill YMCA is a charity. We are a non-profit organization focused on community and human services. 100% of your donation goes directly to those in need. Every dollar donated to our Y For All annual campaign is used to support local children, families and individuals through Y programs, membership and camp. Y For All is more than donors and dollars. Our annual campaign is a grassroots effort led by dozens of volunteers and businesses from our communities. We have early education programs that serve infants, toddlers and preschoolers. We also have after school care in five Haverhill schools and also at the YMCA. Through the support of our Annual Campaign we are able to give all kids a safe place to go both during the day and before and after school.
