PROGRAM INFORMATION PROGRAM REGISTRATION ON NORTHSHOREYMCA.ORG Our new website, launched in December, makes registering for a program easier than ever. While there are several new ways to learn about our programs and search, here are some tips: • Visit: www.northshoreymca.org • Look for the search box located on each program related page. • Search for programs by keyword, location, program area, age and day of the week. • Check off the classes you want to learn more about to read a description • Choose checkout, then sign into your account or create a new account. • Assign each program to someone on your membership. • Pay and print your receipt.

Online Credits

Online credits will be offered for the remainder of any money paid on programs. The amount refunded will be calculated at the time of the request. Credits will be offered for remaining class sessions, calculated when the request is made. You can request a credit form at the front desk or by contacting the director.

Credit Card or Check Refunds

The YMCA will issue a credit card or check refund: • If, for any reason, the YMCA cancels a class, participants will be offered the option for refund for that cancelled class, • If a participant cancels their registration prior to the start of the program session, • For classes missed due to illness (a doctor’s note is required) or, • If you are not 100% satisfied with your class experience. Refunds will be offered for remaining class sessions, calculated when the request is made. You can request a refund form at the front desk or by contacting the director.

ADAPTIVE Adaptive Swim Lessons

An individual assessment will be done by a certified instructor in order to determine placement in swim lessons. ALICE IN WONDERLAND PERFORMANCES Presented by the Y Theatre Company

Alice finds herself in a dreamland of wonder and magic as she follows the White Rabbit to meet the Caterpillar and takes on the Queen of Hearts. Experience this whimsical world with our talented Y Theatre Company actors. A wonderful day at the theatre for families and patrons of all ages as you watch a classic story come to life right before your eyes!

Ages: 3 years Fee: Y Member $67 Community $97 Ballet Class involves lots of imagination to keep the interest and attention of our young 3 yr old students. Dancers use large motor skill movements such as jumping, skipping, hopping, and are made aware of music and rhythm. Exercises for building physical strength and coordination are offered in a FUN and nurturing atmosphere. The basic foundation positions are introduced. Students are also exposed to proper dance etiquette required in the dance studio with great posture and adorable curtsies. Class length, 45 minutes. Dancers will learn exercises for building strength and coordination as well as musicality. At the end of class, we will have an introduction to Tap. Basic techniques focusing on rhythm. Children will develop a positive body image, coordination, balance and peer socialization skills through social interaction, music, games, parachute play and gymnastics circuits. The floor and TumbleTrak will be explored. Class structure is very minimal, with the expectation that parents keep their children with the teacher. Class length is 45 minutes. HAV Y Friday 9:30am

Teeny Tiny Tumblers

Ages: 2.5-3.5 years With Parent Fee: Y Member $55 Community $93 This introductory gymnastics class features tumbling, climbing, jumping and so much more. While skills are introduced, the main focus of this class is for the children to become independent from their parents, follow a teacher’s instructions and stay engaged with the class. The recreational preschool gymnastics program is designed for boys & girls ages 4-6 who like to pursue gymnastics in a fun and non-competitive atmosphere. The emphasis in these classes is developing strength, flexibility and coordination through the use of gymnastic equipment as well as hoops, bean bags and balls. The children progress through the classes according to age and ability.

Junior Kinder Gym I

Ages: 3-4 years Fee: Y Member $75 Community $113 This is a class for children who have mastered the Tiny Tumblers class and are ready to move on. The children will have fun while working on all the events. HAV Y Sunday 9:30am

Kinder Gym I

Ages: 4-6 years Fee: Y Member $75 Community $113 Kinder Gym I develops balance, coordination, strength and motor skills. In this class children will be introduced to the basics of stretching, gymnastics skills and strength exercises in a fun and safe environment. Class length is 45 minutes. We have combined two of our most popular programs into one fun-filled hour and a half. HAV Y Saturday 10:30am-11:15am (Gymnastics) 11:20am-12:05pm (Swimming)

Kinder Gym III

Ages: 5-6 years Fee: Y Member $80 Community $121 Kinder Gym III is for children who have completed Kinder Gym I and II and are ready to develop more advanced gymnastics skills. In this class children will focus on developing a concentration and setting goals. Instructor recommendation is needed for children to advance to this level. Class length is 60 minutes. Kinder Gym IV

Ages: 5-6 years Fee: Y Member $90 Community $131 This 90 minute class is for children who have completed Kinder Gym Ill. The children will learn an advanced skill on each apparatus. Instructor recommendation is required. HAV Y Tuesday 4:45pm

Boys Extreme Sports

Ages: 6 years & up Fee: Y Member $83 Community $124 In this action-packed class, boys use Y gymnastics equipment in creative ways to increase strength, flexibility and agility. This is a great conditioning class for other sports. HAV Y Saturday 10:15am

Jr. Gym I & Swim Combo

Grades: 1-3 Fee: Y Member $89 Community $139 If your child loves gymnastics and swimming, then Jr. Gym & Swim was designed for your child. We have combined two of our most popular programs. The gymnastics will get their hearts pumping for 45 minutes, then off to the pool for a 30 minute swim lesson and 15 minutes of free swim. What a day at the Y! Wear your bathing suit to gymnastics for an easy transition to swim! HAV Y Friday 3:45pm-4:30pm (Gymnastics) 4:30pm-5:15pm (Swimming)

Girls Jr. & Sr. Gymnast I

Grades: 1 & up Fee: Y Member $83 Community $124 This class serves as an introduction to the sport of gymnastics. Starting in the beginner class promotes the confidence necessary in the sport of gymnastics. Ages: 5 years & up This is a pre-competitive program for girls ages 5 and up. Participants must have completed Sr. Gymnast IV, or have been recommended by an instructor. Emphasis is placed on mastery of Level 4 skills, flexibility, strength and balance. Pre Team gymnasts will learn a routine to perform at gym shows.

Competitive Team Program

Ages: 5-18 years Currently the Gym Stars Gymnastics Team consists of a Level 4 and 5 Competitive Team. The gymnasts in this program are required to order a team uniform that will be worn at meets and events. The competitive season is between November and May. Gymnasts will have the opportunity to qualify for State and Regional Competitions. Fun Swim Meet

For All YMCA Lesson Participants This will be a free fun swim meet for anyone currently enrolled in swim lessons. SPORTS & RECREATION Adult Tae Kwon-Do

Ages: 18 years & up Fee: Y Member $74 Community $100 Tae Kwon-Do may be translated as “the art of the foot and fist” or “the art of kicking and punching.” Tae Kwon-Do is a unique form of martial arts. It combines combat techniques, self-defense, sport, exercise, meditation and philosophy. This active healthy choice class is taught by Alison and John Reyes. Class meets in Program Room 4. Ages: 16 years & up Fee: Y Member $290 Community $435 Students are trained in the nationally recognized YMCA Lifeguard Course including CPR, First Aid, 02 and AED. Certification is determined by successful completion of a comprehensive written exam and water test. Swimming skills are a prerequisite and attendance in all classes is mandatory.
