Ages: 12 & 13 years Fee: Member Benefit This program is intended for young adults who are ready to start working out, but are still too young to be on their own in the fitness center. Over the course of 3 separate orientations, our wellness coaches will work with your child in order to get them adequately trained on each piece of equipment. Each orientation will last 45 minutes in length. At the end of this orientation program, your child will graduate with the ability to use the fitness facility on their own. Pee Wee Soccer League
Ages: 3-5 years Six Week Fee: Y Members $60 Community $75 Six Week 2nd child Fee: Y Members $40 Community $60 This outdoor fun and introduction to soccer is a great exercise in developing team play concepts and motor skills. The League will be starting on September 6th and play for 6 weeks with an end of the season celebration. Teams will meet for one hour, with a half hour of team practice time followed by a 30 minute game. Games will take place in the field located behind the Plaistow Community YMCA. The inclement weather location will be inside on one of the Plaistow Community YMCA Courts. Grades 1 & 2 will practice and play on Saturday mornings. Grades 3-6 will have a weekly practice with games on Saturdays. Grades 7 & 8 will have a weekly practice with games on Thursday Nights. This league is a great opportunity for girls who are excited about learning and playing the game of basketball! League play will consist of 8 weeks and grades 3-8 will also have a weekly practice. Parents who are interested in volunteering to coach will receive a 25% discount off their child’s registration fee. Games will begin November 10.

Participant will be place on teams with volunteer coaches. Each player will receive a team T-shirt. The season will run for 8 weeks with team celebrations following the last game. Group exercise can be an amazing experience in your life. There is a special dynamic involved when working out in the presence of others. Energy is shared, friendly competition ensues, and lifelong friends are made. Bury all of your excuses for good. Food Preparation for Weight Loss
Fee: $50 for 8 Weeks Have you met your New Year’s resolutions to eat healthier and lose weight? Or have you tried every diet out there only to gain the weight back? Take control of how you eat, look and feel once and for all in this new course hosted by the Y’s own Registered Dietitian, Lori Kaldy Smith. Cooking for Weight Loss will teach you easy, painless, practical changes you can make to your diet starting at your very next meal. Learn to prepare new recipes (and sample some too!) focusing on vegetables, fruits, lean proteins and whole grains. Fee: Y Member $54 Community $84 This class in instructed by John Reyes. John began training in Tae Kwon-Do, in 1975-present. John is presently certified as a 4th degree black belt. He is also a certified boxing coach, a former kick-boxing judge with the ISKA, and a former director of the Massachusetts faction of the United States Tae Kwon-Do Federation. In addition John Reyes is a N.E.A.A.U. Lightweight Karate Champion, and competed nationally. Timed rounds of, jump boxing, mirror work, focus mitts, boxing exercise (pushups, crunches, squats, medicine ball), with boxing technique and instruction. PLS Y Wednesday 6:00-6:45pm
Women’s Basketball League
Fee: Y Member $75 Community $85 The Haverhill YMCA will be hosting a Women’s 30+ Basketball. The league will begin October 1 and run for ten weeks including plus play offs. Games will be held on Wednesday evenings at the Plaistow Community YMCA. Players are able to register as a team or individually. Teams must have at least six players and no more than ten players on a team. Team shirts are included. The team that finishes in first place will receive of a championship trophy. Men’s 30+ Adult Basketball League
Team Fee: $480 Fee: Y Member $65 Community $75 This league is designed for adults who are looking for a fun and competitive league. Season will last 10 weeks including playoffs. The season will begin November 11. Teams must be paid in full before season starts. Rosters may not have more than a 10 players. Roster must be submitted by November 1. Players must attend at least 6 regular season games to be eligible for playoffs. Games will be held on Tuesday nights each week. There will be an addition charge for team jerseys. Ages: 16 years & up Fee: Y Member $275 Community $350 Students are trained in the nationally recognized YMCA Lifeguard Course including CPR, First Aid, 02 and AED. Certification is determined by successful completion of a comprehensive written exam and water test. Swimming skills are a prerequisite and attendance in all classes is mandatory.
