Ages: 8-12 years Fee: Y Members $60 Community $75 Students will use LEGOS® as the building blocks for fun, friendships and learning. We will explore deep space, build a city, create thrilling adventures and hang out with super heroes. Each class, students will have plenty of time to build with LEGOS®. Invent It, Build It

Ages: 7 -12 years Fee: Y Member $90 Community $120 Physics isn’t just for scientists, it’s for kids too! Work on cool projects that help kids learn the concepts of buoyancy, truss, friction, force, gravity, and much, much more. SALY Thursday 3:30-4:30pm

Tiny Dancers

Ages: 2.5-5 years Fee: Y Member $50 Community $60 Drop In $10/class This class is for our youngest students, stressing listening skills, coordination and development of motor skills. This is a combination class introducing the basics of ballet and jazz. There is a focus on basic terminology and music appreciation while allowing opportunities for creative expression. Mini Brigades

Ages: 3-5 years Fee: Y Members $50 Community $60 Students will be introduced to basic bucket brigade routines. The focus will be to teach preschoolers that music can be created out of other things other than actual instruments, many of which can be found around the house. Mini Magic Musicals: Frozen!

Glee Open to singers ages 11-18 years BEAT BOXERS NEEDED! Glee Club is a much sought after a cappella performance group on the North Shore. In its second year, Glee Club seeks to provide young musicians with advanced level singing and musicianship. Glee Club sings all styles of music and even works together to create some of their own arrangements. This group will perform frequently, and requires a certain level of commitment to participate. Glee Jr. Open to singers ages 8-12 years Learn the ins and outs of a cappella singing! This is a preparation class for overall musicianship, group singing and a cappella style. This group may perform some concerts, but will primarily prepare the students for Glee Club or future advanced a cappella groups. Rehearsal Times Will Be Determined Pending Auditions & Schedules of Singers. On average, both groups will rehearse once a week. *Space is limited dependent on auditions. Jr. Actors Club: Willy Wonka Jr.

Ages: 4-9 years Fee: Y Members $95 Community $115 This once a week class meets and rehearses as a sister club to our full production of Willy Wonka Jr. Learn 2 scenes or songs from our current theatrical production and perform alongside our cast show weekend! Class will meet during Willy Wonka Jr.’s rehearsal time and join the cast for rehearsals. Learn the basics of singing, dancing, and acting. Shine on stage in your very own costume under the lights! This class offers a great alternative to our full theatrical production for kids who have busy schedules or want to dip a toe into what it’s like to be in a play! SALY Thursdays 4:00pm-5:00pm

Storytelling Theatrical Devising for Home School Enrichment

Ages: 6 years and up Fee: Y Member $50 Community $65 per student Take the opportunity for your homeschool group to learn about the full process of theatrical creativity. Combine english, visual art, and performing arts to learn about creating a characters and a plot, improv-ing scenes, writing a script, designing the costumes and set, rehearsing, and performing. Orientation—Youth Cardiovascular

Ages: 8-11 years Fee: Y Member Only FREE Two sessions teaching youth members ages 8-11 years old how to properly use the cardiovascular equipment and the Youth Fitness Center Policies. After the completion of the orientations, the youth will be permitted to use the fitness center during the age appropriate hours. Open to all teens in the Salem community, SAYmedia, our Y's vocational media center, nurtures the talents and dreams of Salem teens through teaching a variety of digital media production skills like graphics, web technologies, film production and editing. Kids are armed with the know-how to work in the media industry and are given opportunities to put their new-found skills to work with real clients. This highly successful program concentrates on teaching the basic skills of dribbling, shooting and passing through a series practices and games. All classes run on Saturdays and consist o a half hour of instruction followed by league games. This leagu stands apart by having lower hoops for the Rookie division, ena bling young players to develop proper form in shooting and gai confidence. Fee: Family Members Free The member family room is great for kids of all ages to create, learn and explore and is now free to family members everyday! Children will take home themes arts and crafts projects. The Family Room is also available for Birthday Parties on Saturday & Sundays from 2:00-4:00pm. This class is perfect for older adults, interested in improving their life through exercise. LIVESTRONG at the YMCA Fee:

Y Member Free Community Free Participants work with Y staff trained in supportive cancer care to safely achieve their goals such as building muscle mass and strength; increasing flexibility and endurance; and improving confidence and self-esteem. By focusing on the whole person and not the disease, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is helping people move beyond cancer in spirit, mind and body. The program includes: • Free 12-week adult Y membership • Two free 75 minute classes per week • Full access to the Y seven days a week CRITERIA FOR PARTICIPATION • Class is available for individuals currently undergoing cancer treatment as well as those who have completed their treatment and are looking to regain health and improve quality of life. • Strong personal desire. Y for ALL Annual Campaign Did You Know...?

The Salem YMCA is a charity. We are a non-profit organization focused on community and human services. 100% of your donation goes directly to those in need. Every dollar donated to our Y For All annual campaign is used to support local children, families and individuals through Y programs, membership and camp. Y For All is more than donors and dollars. Our annual campaign is a grassroots effort led by dozens of volunteers and businesses from our communities.

Ages: 12 years & up Fee: $70/per person Course certifies all participants in on the Professional CPR level. Course also certifies participants in oxygen administration. Course covers basic CPR skills, blocked airways and use of a defibrillator. It also introduces bag-valve mask and 2-rescuer CPR skills. Certification meets criteria for nurses, lifeguards, police and fire in addition to all other members of the community that include childcare providers, fitness professionals and teachers.
