Hello and thank you for being a part of the Everett YMCA community. Whether you have been with us for multiple decades, or have just joined, we are thrilled you’re here.
STAFF DIRECTORY
This time of year we raise funds to support those in need throughout our community through the Everett Y’s Annual Campaign.
Sergio Barrera, Jr, Teen Director sbarrera@ymca-snoco.org
Donations help us serve the areas membership fees don’t. All money goes towards programs that are free or low cost to participants, or to provide financial assistance for programs. The money helps the Everett Y serve more people in our community, and those that need it the most. The Y is a Charity. Our mission: To inspire, nurture and strengthen culturally vibrant communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The need will be greater this year. In just the last 6 months, we have seen a 3x increase in request for assistance in our Swim Lessons, Youth Sports and Teen programs. Our goal to raise this year is $215,000.
How to give. To donate to us this year: you can pick up a pledge form at the Welcome Center and make a one-time or recurring gift, visit us online at ymca-snoco.org/give, participate in one of our events (list in the back of this guide), or join the 10 for 10 club, adding just $10 to your monthly dues.
This is also the time of year we begin reserving spots for Summer Camp! This year we are offering Discovery Camp, Sports Camp and Specialty Camp for grades 1-6, and Xtreme Adventure for grades 6-11. My first job at the Y was at an overnight/resident camp, and I have seen first hand how Summer Camp’s impact extends far beyond the fun that kids will have each day. Our camps help kids learn more about themselves, build confidence and are better prepared to go back to school in the Fall by the constant learning throughout the warmer months. I look forward to continuing to serve and meet your needs as a YMCA member, as always; my door is always open.
Sincerely,

SCHOOL AGE CARE SCHOOL AGE CARE BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL When school’s out, you can trust the Y to provide an engaging experience for your child right at school. Y School Age programs give your child the opportunity to get to know some of their classmates better as they engage in active play and collaborate on fun projects. In the process, they’ll continue to develop the physical, educational, emotional, and social skills that are essential for success. Our School Age programs serve children enrolled in North Everett elementary schools during their out-of-school times from 6:30 am6:30 pm. On-site programs are located at the following schools:
Whittier (Transportation provided to and from Garfield and Hawthorne Elementary) Jackson (Transportation provided to and from Emerson, Lowell, Madison and View Ridge) Lowell (coming soon!) These programs are also accessible to students enrolled in the following schools via transportation provided daily: Hawthorne, Madison, Emerson, View Ridge, Garfield, Lowell OUR PROGRAMS Children are like sponges - they watch and absorb knowledge, skills and values from everything and everyone around them. At the Y, we believe the values and skills learned early on are vital building blocks for quality of life and future success. At the Y, school-age kids make friends, learn new skills and do homework. Most importantly, children learn how to be their best selves. Specific activities are different for each location and age group, but all locations feature:
Academic support from caring role models Physical activity and movement Free-Choice/Open Centers Healthy Snack Group Time 30-minute Outdoor Time; weather permitting Projects and Activities in Arts, STEM, Literacy, and Cooking Service learning opportunities

EVERETT FAMILY YMCA | SPRING 2020
We support school efforts in learning by bridging the gap between school and back. The Y provides hands on experiential activities for kids to learn in different ways. Our School Age Care staff strive to create ways for every child to learn and grow. OUR STAFF Our School Age programs are staffed with people who understand the cognitive, physical and social development of kids; the need children have to feel connected and supported in trying new things; and the caring and reinforcement parents and families need to help each other. Each School Age location has a dedicated Site Coordinator, with a minimum of 30 college credits in early childhood or elementary education. Staff have attended, and continue to attend, regularly scheduled training events on Positive Behavior Guidance, Reframing Conflict, Active Learning, Building Community and Homework Help. Staff maintain current certification in CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, and other certification required by the licensor. In addition, staff and volunteers are thoroughly screened prior to employment and evaluated on a regular basis to ensure continually high performance. FEE OPTIONS Our 2019-2020 rate options sheets are available online, at all School Age sites, and the Welcome Center. REGISTRATION Stop by the Welcome Center for pricing and registration forms.
