MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Hello and thank you for being a part of the Mill Creek YMCA community. Rolling into the winter months, we are all back into our normal routines at the YMCA. Swimming, sports, exercise and many different programs throughout the branch and community help to keep us active, safe, and healthy through the indoor season. Winter is also the time of year for the YMCA’s Annual Campaign to raise funds. Our 2017 campaign goal is $145,000 and I invite everyone to participate by volunteering or making a gift. More than just a gym, your YMCA is an important cause and makes a difference in strengthening our community. We provide needed financial assistance to children, families, and seniors. The money we raise is used for program scholarships allowing everyone to participate at the Y. Your participation would be greatly appreciated! I look forward to continuing to serve and meet your needs as a YMCA member. As always; my door is always open for comments and suggestions. Sincerely,

ADVANCED CARE PLANNING Ages 18+ What if you were tragically injured in an accident, had a debilitating fall or a life altering diagnosis? Think about it, a medical crisis can hit anyone at any time at any age. Who will be your voice if you are unable to speak? Who will decide if you can’t? Advance care planning is not just about old age. A medical crisis could leave someone too ill to make his or her own healthcare decisions. Get the tools you need! This workshop involves learning about the types of decisions that might need to be made, considering those decisions ahead of time, and then letting others know about your preferences. Now is the time to plan so you can be sure to get the health care you want! Knowing how you would decide takes some of the burden off family and friends. Have the conversation! Wednesday
