Hello Monroe! Welcome to the Monroe/Sky Valley Family YMCA. This is going to be your best summer ever! Here at the Y, we care about not only your fitness, but your holistic health in mind, body, and spirit. Helping you be your best self is our passion. We are all about family. That’s why we offer activities and programing for all ages. From infants in our Child Watch Adventure Zone to our seniors in our SilverSneakers® and Silver and Fit programs. In addition to running our own programs, we partner with many local business and non-profits to meet the needs of our community that we can. Members here are like family and we hope you feel as though you are at your home away from home as you walk through our doors.

MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION NOW IT’S EASIER THAN EVER TO JOIN THE Y! Membership in the Y is a special thing. Be a part of a leading nonprofit organization for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The YMCA of Snohomish County is a membership organization and anyone can join. So, with simple monthly dues, you have no contracts or minimum stays to worry about and no sales pitches to endure. Just quality, healthy programs that your whole family can enjoy.
MEMBERSHIP TYPES FACILITY MEMBERSHIP Get full access to fitness centers at all six YMCAs in Snohomish County with a Facility Membership. Choose from a wide menu of free group exercise classes, enjoy lap and recreational swimming, and receive a free wellness orientation when you join. And as a facility member, you’ll be eligible for priority registration and reduced fees on specialty classes and programs for your whole family. PROGRAM MEMBERSHIP If you’re not already a Y Facility Member and want to participate in programs like summer camps, youth sports, swimming lessons and child care, you’ll need an annual Program Membership. You’ll receive the same great level of quality and caring for which the Y is known, but without access to wellness centers and other amenities offered through a full Facility Membership.

GENERAL INFORMATION OUR MISSION To inspire, nurture, and strengthen culturally vibrant communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
AWAY PROGRAM The AWAY (Always Welcome at YMCAs) program allows you to access Ys around the country when visiting from out of town. Just show your valid Y membership card. This program is good for 12 visits per calendar year.
MEMBERSHIP CARD Your membership card is valuable and important. A valid membership card or photo ID is required every time you enter the Y. If you lose your card, you can get a replacement for a small fee. You can also create a digital card to scan at the branch with our mobile app.
PROGRAM REFUND GUIDELINES The following guidelines are for programs that do not have required deposits (which are non-refundable). Special restrictions apply to Camp, Child Care, Membership and other programs that are clearly stated in their brochures and registrations. Program Directors have the final say to make any allowances other than the following:
GUESTS Your membership includes 12 complimentary guest passes per year, stored electronically on your membership account, is good for one redemption at any branch of the YMCA of Snohomish County, and admits one person or one family to join you at the Y. At busy times, the Y reserves the right to limit guest usage. All guests must present photo identification and adhere to facility guidelines. A guest may use Y facilities up to three times in one calendar year with a member. Thereafter, a day pass or membership must be purchased. FINANCIAL AID If you’re unable to afford the full cost of YMCA memberships and programs you can apply confidentially for financial assistance, forms are located in the lobby and are also available on our website. Member Services staff are available assist you with your request. PAYMENT OPTIONS Bank draft and credit card payments are a convenient way to pay membership fees and ensure your membership is current. New membership activation requires a one-month payment of membership dues and pro-rated monthly fees at time of enrollment as well as banking account information or a credit card. Annual payments are perfect for members who want to pay for their membership one year at a time. This option requires payment of 12 months at time of enrollment. LEAVE OF ABSENCE Members may have their membership held in abeyance once per calendar year upon 15 days advance written notice if membership dues are current. A minimum abeyance of 60 days and a maximum abeyance of 120 days is permitted. Membership will be automatically activated after a term of abeyance expires. $7 draft payment for every month. MEMBER GET A MEMBER It’s a win-win at the Y! When you refer a friend, and they sign up for a Y membership, you’ll receive one month free membership for yourself. Gain a workout buddy and money in your pocket. Pick up a Member-Get-A-Member guest pass at Member Services.

We pledge to acknowledge each comment and respond appropriately. If you prefer to email or telephone your comment, please contact the Membership Director. GET STARTED An easy first step to getting started at the Y is to contact Member Services for a free wellness connection within your first 30 days of membership. A trained Y professional will meet with you to discuss your goals, answer any questions you may have, and recommend appropriate wellness programs for you. FACILITY GUIDELINES • Ages 6 and under must have direct supervision at all times. • Ages 7-11 must be accompanied by a supervising individual who
remains in the building. • Ages 12 & 13 are not required to be accompanied by a
supervising individual but are subject to age restrictions for specific areas. • Ages 14 and older are considered adults only for the purpose of
use of the facilities and programs.

GENERAL INFORMATION ELECTRONIC USAGE GUIDELINES Due to the advances in mobile and video technology, and for the privacy and protection of all our members, the YMCA of Snohomish County asks that members, participants, and guests adhere to the following guidelines. • Use of electronic devices is not permitted - at any time - in Y
locker rooms and youth program areas. • As a courtesy to other members, please set phones to silent while
working out. • Please limit phone conversations to the lobby or non-workout
areas. • Taking photos or video without permission from the Executive
Director is not permitted on Y premises. FOOD AND BEVERAGES No food or drink other than water is permitted in the pool, workout and gym areas. SMOKE-FREE ENVIRONMENT In keeping with Y’s health and wellness advocacy, smoking is not permitted on Y’s facility or grounds. All YMCA’s of Snohomish County properties are smoke-free environments.
ATTIRE As a family organization, the YMCA of Snohomish County encourages members and their guests to maintain an appearance that is not disruptive, distracting, nor offensive in any regard and to wear attire that does not present health or safety concerns. Accordingly, Y staff may restrict appearance and attire with special consideration for those specific issues. These guidelines are meant for example purposes and may not be inclusive of all expectations. Not permitted Clothing and jewelry that carry sexual, vulgar, or offensive messages or references, including pictures of the use of alcohol, tobacco, drugs, and gang affiliation.

Jeans are not permitted in workout areas.

Eye guards are required in racquetball courts.
Proper swim attire is required in the pool and spa areas.
LOCKERS Lockers are available for day use by members and guests. You must bring your own lock and remove it at the end of each visit. Items left overnight will be removed from the locker room and placed in the lost and found. Always secure your belongings. We recommend that you not bring valuables into the facility; the Y is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Security lockers for small items are available at no cost. COURT RESERVATIONS Courts may be reserved up to a day in advance by calling Member Services or in person. Reservations are encouraged to guarantee your desired time. There is a one hour reservation limit per person during peak usage times. Racquets, balls, and eye protection can be checked out with your membership card.

Get your little one prepared for school success through enriching activities and hands-on learning. Led by our trained Y staff, the camp focus is on the basics of reading, writing, math , and social skills with plenty of theme-based fun included.
Weekly themes and field trips offer opportunities for children to learn about themselves and discover the world around them. Under supervision of experienced staff, children engage in a variety of hands-on activities to develop, create, and explore.

TEEN BUS RUN
Jump Start prepares incoming kindergarten students who have had no preschool experience prior to starting kindergarten. The areas of focus include: learning the routines of school, structure of a kindergarten day, transitions, academic readiness, literacy, math, parent education and resources. Parent Education classes are created to give parents tools for the transition to school and as a time for parents to ask questions and receive feedback from experienced parents and teachers.
The Teen Bus Run picks up students at Park Place Middle School, Hidden River Middle School (at the Fryelands Elementary bus dropoff site), Monroe High School and brings them to the Y after school. Fee reserves seat on the bus for the whole month.

SUPER SITTERS
Super Sitters is a program designed to train young people in basic babysitting skills, safety and infant/childcare. Those completing the course will be better prepared to provide a safer, more effective and positive babysitting experience. SWIM TEAM The Monroe/Sky Valley Family YMCA Swim Team offers youth the opportunity to learn about swimming as a sport while having fun and encouraging sportsmanship. Coaching includes the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility while working on endurance training and stroke techniques. HEALTHY LIVING MASTER SWIM CLASS An organized workout designed to improve endurance, speed, and form in any level of swimmer. Monday, Wednesday, & Thursday 5:30-7 am SILVERSPLASH® This class offers lots of fun and shallow water movements to improve agility, flexibility, and cardiovascular endurance. No swimming ability is required, and a special kickboard is used to develop strength, balance and coordination. YOQUA Join us for this specialty yoga class in the water. The program provides a supportive environment where participants work together in a small group to learn about healthier eating and increasing their physical activity in order to reduce their risk for developing diabetes. The program is led by a trained Lifestyle Coach in a classroom setting, is delivered over a 12-month period, beginning with 16 weekly sessions followed by monthly maintenance. In order to qualify for the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program, participants must be at least 18 years old, overweight (BMI of 25 or greater) and at high risk for developing type 2 diabetes or have been diagnosed with prediabetes. VOLUNTEERISM & GIVING VOLUNTEER, DONATE, ADVOCATE Our movement is made up of people of all ages and from every walk of life, all working side-by-side to ensure that everyone, regardless of gender, income, or background, has the opportunity to live life to the fullest. Financial assistance keeps the Y available for kids and families who need us most. We count on the generosity of our members and community to help people of all ages and from all walks of life be more healthy, confident, connected, and secure. When you give to the Y, your gift will have a meaningful, enduring impact right in your own neighborhood. The Y’s Financial Assistance Program is supported by contributions to our Annual Campaign and United Way. And finally, the Y could not survive without the dedication of our volunteers. From youth tutors to committee members, teen mentors to fundraisers, board members to fitness instructors, volunteers lend their time, talents, and energy to help strengthen our community. VOLUNTEER, DONATE, ADVOCATE Across the United States, more than 500,000 business leaders, community advocates, parents, teens, and individuals who want to give back and support their neighbors volunteer at the Y. In 10,000 neighborhoods nationwide, including Snohomish County, we have the presence and partnerships to not just promise, but deliver positive personal and social change. Y volunteers give men, women, and children of all ages and from all walks of life the resources and support the need to be healthy, confident, connected and secure. VOLUNTEERS OF THE Y • Lead our Boards of Directors and branch committees. • Raise funds to ensure the Y is accessible to all members of the community through Annual Campaign. • Motivate and support youth through coaching our sports teams and teaching many of our classes. • Extend a hand to help adults who want to do more, be more or live healthier through healthy living programs. • Participate in opportunities to give back and support neighbors through food drives, community events and more!
