Welcome Message from Headmaster Gavin Clark It gives me great pleasure to welcome everybody to today’s Solo Piping and Drumming Competition. I am delighted that this event has attracted so many entries from across East Lothian. Piping and Drumming in East Lothian is in a more positive place than it has been in a very long time thanks, in no small part, to the support so many young people and bands receive from the East Lothian Pipes and Drums Trust. That support has enabled a large number of families to become closely involved in the fantastic opportunities that piping and drumming can bring to young people. I would like to thank the Trust, all those same families and our staff and tutors for making today’s event possible. I would also like to thank all those who have sponsored today’s event. Without that support the event would have been much diminished. Finally, and most importantly of all, I would like to thank all of the young people who have chosen to enter the competition. I am certain that everybody will have a very positive day and I wish all the competitors the very best of luck.
