lotus lotus is our expression of practical, functional easy-living design. Modern slim line and compact in character, lotus is designed specifically to address the ease of which a user gets in and up and out of the chair. The arms are shaped for easy grip with the back and headrest cushion pad giving stability plus soft-support comfort for the back and the head. lotus features the accentu8 fully removable seat duvet and back cushion pad for ease of cleaning, replacing or simply refreshing with new. This model is shown in standard chair format, incorporating a tilt-in-space with a power or manual rise and recline mechanism, a spectrum of sizes and bariatric weights supporting up to 50 stone.

Angela Gidden MBE
our story When leading British furniture maker Wilcare invited renowned designer Angela Gidden MBE to work on an innovative new rise, recline and swivel chair (arc), few could have predicted the impact the collaboration would have on the company. Angela Gidden is renowned for her work designing upholstery, furniture solutions and textiles for manufacturers of contemporary furniture. Her work encompasses the office contract sector and retailers such as Habitat, Heals and The Conran Shop amongst others. The acclaimed designer saw the opportunity to apply her contemporary design thinking into the more traditional healthcare market. She recognised that healthcare environments and expectations - as in so many work place interiors and public use spaces - are changing‌. Inside and out. The collaboration grew in scope as Angela and the management team realised that a strategic approach to a new product design programme for the company was the next logical step. A completely new look model range led to a bold realisation that an entirely new stand-alone brand was required, and so the name accentu8 was born.
