HEAT ISLAND

Leading in a disruptive world Living a hyper connected life Survivors of the megalopolis Women in Bangkok

It felt like 40 degrees Celsius And yet it was always better to walk and feel alive rather than sit in

Bangkok

a grab car with the feeling it could go on forever Despite the pollution, it felt good to ride a grab bike Despite the amount of people, riding the BTS felt good enough But can the cities go on like this?

• Life in Sukhumvit at 40 degrees

Isn’t it worth it to rethink the whole solution? And what is the role of us, women, in the megalopolis? Where is our space? Where do we belong?

We belong to the city We are part of the workforce that moves the world We have skills and abilities

Cooking, serving, preparing and distributing the food to the world. But, odd as is may seem, the hall of fame is full of male chefs

Push Always impressed by women pushing around their business We push to make it happen We push to give birth We push and rock the cradle We pushed the stroller But we push gently Push gently the world around us So that those pushed don’t feel the pressure

Women at work Yes, they are here to stay To prove that women are brave enough If they need to be

After school Sisters that walk home from school Sisters that will play in the playground Sisters that deserve to be as happy as they are today for the rest of their lives

Wisi mattis leo suscipit nec amet, nisl fermentum tempor ac a, augue in eleifend in venenatis, cras sit id in vestibulum felis in, sed ligula.

We want to educate ourselves, be independent and be the sole proprietors of our own space

Connected The digitalization of the world is overwhelming I always thought this was not that acute for women I noticed we all have the same issues

It is a challenge to ride with the dress, the bags, the purse...in the traffic. But women don’t like to get stuck in traffic

Wisi mattis leo suscipit nec amet, nisl fermentum tempor ac a, augue in eleifend in venenatis, cras sit id in vestibulum felis in, sed ligula.

Public transportation lets us escape from the traffic. But public transportation can also ruin the city profile...Who wants to walk underneath the BTS? Not me. Women tend to escape from areas where infrastructure reduces the visibility. It makes us feel unsafe

Women are all in this together

When friends welcome you to their space in the city. Chula way of understanding women through culture, art and kindness

To walk, to live Walking is my preferred mean of transportation in the city When your heart rate is beating to a nice pace, the ideas come and stay The inspiration often arrives while walking and running When the blood is pumping, I feel alive I guess women in Bangkok feel the same way Women like to walk when we feel safe

Networking Networking comes natural to women We like to chat We like to communicate We love to be open to other women We manage to express our feelings We enjoy socializing We also love to listen We are eager to share We are great networkers

I don’t care And when he gives you that look... Here is my answer: I don’t care if you don’t like the way I dress You can go mind your own business This does not have anything to do with you I know how to be rude if I need to

The present Global women Connected to a global world Belonging to a local reality Being moms, daughters, sisters Enjoying the grey sky of the rainy season

The future The future is already here We all desire clean air, green cities Women of the future have already arrived We need to make it clear now We need to rethink the whole solution before it is too late
