0516405 Technology is quickly redefining what it means to be human. There is no denying that we are different from the people who came before us, not only in that we successfully technology to overcome a range of challenges, but we also utilize it to enhance situations. From artificial skin, limbs and organs to touchable holograms and gesturecontrolled devices, the trend is quite clear: Transhumanism will very likely be the next stage of human development. Every element of human physiology, the senses, organs, skeleton and muscles will be enhanced. These improvements will be driven by advances in wearable and the Internet of things. For example in the last year wearable technology is has become fashionable to where and use becoming a trend to have with the Apple watch and Fitbit. Are these really making us superhuman or just enhancing what we can do and achieve. In the last few years there has
been a development in the prosthesis which is an artificial device that replaces a missing body part, which may be lost through trauma, disease, or congenital conditions. From when they started to now is incredible as the limbs look and feel so realistic and being able to do everything you can with a real arm and legs the people can feel like everyone else. But the things that will be making us superhuman is in the near future as scientist are working on projects such as BCI, Neural Implant and Exocortex. These projects focus more on the human body and brain from uploading information from the brain to a computer to being able to clone yourself. Again is this making us superhuman? Enhancing the ability of the human body? Or is it a bad thing and technology is completely taking over the humans purpose?
