My name is Yona Novack (they/them). I’m a designer and a fabricator. I strive to fashion designs that bridge the gap between bold, intuitive formmaking and architectural tradition. I value organicism, harmony, variety, and unity. I believe that good design inspires those who examine it, but most of the time it goes silently unseen, bettering the lives of those around it.

DINGHY WORKSHOP
The export of red cedar from Cedar Key was critical to the development of Northern Florida until overharvesting and a devasting hurricane ceased the industry in 1896. The site follows the curve of the old rail trestle. As the estuary habitat changes with sea level rise and increasing hurricanes, the dinghy workshop encourages critical engagement with the delicate landscape of Gulf Coast estuaries.
JULIAN BATHS
JULIAN BATHS
Via Giulia was commissioned to Donato Bramante by Pope Julius II in 1508 as a pilgrim’s way along the East bank of the Tiber to St. Peter’s Basilica. The site, adjacent to Ponte Giuseppe Mazzini, was cleared and abandoned by Mussolini at the start of World War II. The baths restore an essentially Roman social amenity to the neglected piazza. As Rome continues to suffer a housing shortage, the new apartment plan opens this historic neighborhood to greater diversity.
