precedent studies THE MODERN ART MUSEUM OF FORT WORTH The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth (widely referred to as The Modern) was first granted a Charter from the State of Texas in 1892 as the "Fort Worth Public Library and Art Gallery", evolving through several name changes and different facilities in Fort Worth.The current building, designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando. The Museum currently showcases up to 150 works of art in its 53,000 square feet of gallery space.The "Modern" is located in the city's Cultural District, adjacent to the Kimbell Art Museum, designed by Louis I. Kahn, and near the Amon Carter Museum, designed by Philip Johnson. The building features five long pavilions set into a reflecting pond.






the modern art museum of fort worth exemplifies the work of japanese architect tadao ando through its simple geometry,incorporation of the natural environment and very minimal material selections.five long,flat-roofed pavillions appear to float atop the 1.5 acre reflecting pond, which is reminscent of other ando projects.



kimbell art museum, light performs a crucial role - illuminating the space and creating a mood.this type of lighting also enables the visitor to see the work of art more similarly to the way it would have been viewed by its creator, under conditions of natural light. at this point, tadao ando refered khan's building as he influenced by kimbell's concept and applied into his building.

reflection ando explains that the "engawa" in japanese architecture is the space between the inside and the outside.thus boundaries between the outside and inside are reduced, if not eliminated.

SITE CONTEXT JENJAROM JENJAROM IS A VILLAGE LOCATED IN SELANGOR. IT HAS A SIGNIFICANT CHINESE (HOKKIEN) POPULATION AND THE VILLAGE IS THE SITE OF THE DONG ZEN FO GUANG SHAN BUDDHIST TEMPLE AND INSTITUTE IN SUNGAI JAROM. JENJAROM WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1950s DURING THE EMERGENCY. DURING THAT TIME,JENJAROM WAS SURROUNDED WITH ESTATES AND MOST OF THE CHINESE SETTLERS WERE SCATTERED THROUGHOUT THE PLACE. WHEN THE BRIGGS PLAN WAS LAUNCHED BY SIR HENRY GURNEY, THE CHINESE WERE GATHERED AND RESETTLED AT KAMPUNG BARU.






LOCAL MUSEUM JENJAROM JENJAROM IS A VILLAGE LOCATED IN SELANGOR. IT HAS A SIGNIFICANT CHINESE (HOKKIEN) POPULATION AND THE VILLAGE IS THE SITE OF THE DONG ZEN FO GUANG SHAN BUDDHIST TEMPLE AND INSTITUTE IN SUNGAI JAROM. JENJAROM IS A HARMONY NEW VILLAGE.THE VILLAGERS TRADE THE VISITOR LIKE THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS.THE HOUSES IN JEJAROM LIKE DONT HAVE A VISIBLE BOUNDARY.





