Box frame

I’m a big fan of these picture frames with two panes of glass in them – they’re perfect for displaying dried leaves and flowers, for example, and you get the impression that whatever is in the frame is floating. Another great side effect: when the sun shines, it creates a great play of shadows. As we’re talking about spring, we won’t use dried leaves but pastel-colored paper leaves. As a contrast I’ve created some striking black lettering – for some spring decoration that’s a little different but still ornamental!

Instructions

1. Draw some leaves and petals on the colored paper and cut them out using scissors or scalpel. 2. Select the paper you want to use for the lettering and cut it to size (here it’s postcard-sized) and do a preliminary drawing of your lettering. 3. A striking black will add maximum contrast to the pastel colors. 4. Now place the lettering centrally on the first pane of glass and organise the paper leaves around it. It will look particularly lively if you place them in front and behind the lettering! 5. Carefully place the second pane of glass over the top and gently replace them in the frame. Done!
