1980s Todd E. Aikens ‘86 (Long Branch, NJ) currently serves as the public address announcer for the Jersey Shore BlueClaws minor league baseball team, who play in FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood, NJ. Linda Amos ‘84 (York, PA) had a free-verse poem, “You are My Safe Haven,” published in the June 2021 issue of Conceit magazine.
1990s Jeffrey R. Hines ‘97 was named the 2021 recipient of the York County Economic Alliance Business Achievement Award. Hines retired in 2019 after 30 years as President and CEO of the York Water Company and currently serves as Chair of the York College Board of Trustees. Donald R. O’Shell, Jr. ‘92 (York, PA) was promoted to Colonel/O6 in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard on June 24, 2021. The promotion ceremony was held on July 14, 2021, at Fort Indiantown Gap with presiding officer Brigadier General Mike Regan, Commander— Pennsylvania Air National Guard.
Dr. Terence L. Peavy ‘92 (Jersey City, NJ) was recently named Vice President for Institutional Field Relations at the Middle States Commission on Higher Education in Philadelphia, PA. He was formerly the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management at SUNY Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. He also currently serves on the York College Board of Trustees.
David Gonzalez ‘14 (York, PA) was promoted to Director of Economic Initiatives with the York County Economic Alliance. Bryce E. Kruger ‘18 (York, PA) has been promoted to Corporate Engagement Manager with United Way of York County. He is also a member of the York College Community Opportunity Scholarship Program (YCCOSP) Community Advisory Board.
Timothy L.T. Smith ‘90 (Bowie, MD) recently retired from the District of Maryland United States Probation Office after 20 years of service.
2000s Jessica C. Caggiano ‘06 (Lansdale, PA) has been named among the 2021 Pennsylvania Rising Stars, which recognizes attorneys who are 40 years old or younger. She was honored for her success in employee benefits, employment and labor, and workers’ compensation law. Adam A. Ogle ‘05 (York, PA) has been named as the new Warden of York County Prison by the Board of Inspectors. He had been serving as the interim Warden since earlier this year and was previously Deputy Warden of Security Services.
2010s Molly R. (Corey) Brandt ‘12 is the new Assistant Director of Financial Aid at Elizabethtown College in Elizabethtown, PA.

Shawn N. (Becker) Smith ‘12 (Dover, PA) has been promoted to Vice President of Community Impact with United Way of York County. She has been with United Way since November 2018 and was previously with the County of York as a Human Services Coordinator.
Weddings and Engagements Molly R. Corey ‘12 (York, PA) and Christopher L. Brandt ‘12 (York, PA) were married on June 25, 2021. Samantha N. Petersen ‘09 married Vinay Ceela on December 8, 2020. The couple resides in York, PA, where Samantha was recently promoted to an Epic Principal Trainer with WellSpan Health.
Deceased ALUMNI Philip R. Blankenstein ‘65 (Millersville, PA), March 26, 2021. He attended York Junior College and had a 35-year career with IBM in Finance and Personnel. Four York College alumni were named to Central Penn Business Journal’s Power 100 for 2021: Jennifer Berrier ‘02, PA Department of Labor and Industry; Troy Peters ‘91, Jonestown Bank & Trust Co.; Kristen Pucci ‘16, KRAE Consulting; and Kevin Schreiber ‘02, York County Economic Alliance. Also included on the list was the College’s President, Dr. Pamela Gunter-Smith.
Jennifer (Beach) Dettinger ‘95 (Dallastown, PA), June 5, 2021. She was a human resource specialist for the York City School District. She is survived by her son, Bobby, and her husband, Robert. Gerald M. Gingerich ‘72 (Seven Valleys, PA), December 23, 2020. He worked for Met-Ed for over 35 years, retiring in 1995. He also held a private pilot’s license and had visited 49 states. He is survived by several cousins.
Thomas A. Meiser ‘63 (Lexington Park, MD), July 15, 2021. He attended York Junior College and also received a degree from St. Mary’s College in Maryland. He had a successful career in government contracting for 30 years and was married to his wife, Shonna, for 57 years. Jan K. Poff ‘89 (Dover, PA), September 25, 2020. After earning her nursing degree, she worked at Pleasant Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center until her retirement. She is survived by her son and two daughters. Gary E. Tarbert ‘73 (New Oxford, PA), February 21, 2021. He served in the Vietnam War and was awarded two Purple Hearts. He worked in finance for many years at the Dauphin Deposit Bank in York and also owned Tarbert’s Airport Transportation, retiring in 2006. He is survived by his wife, Dawn, and their two sons. FRIENDS Khaliek Haile Salassie Grimes (Littlestown, PA), May 30, 2021. In addition to the College, he also attended HACC-Gettysburg. He is survived by a sister and a brother and many other family members. Anne Bruen Cramer Hoover (York, PA), June 3, 2021. In addition to many volunteer activities with York County nonprofits, she served as President of the York College Women’s Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Benjamin, their three children, and four grandchildren.
