Linda Amos ‘84 (York, PA) will have two poems, “Tunnel of Gold” and “Dawn’s Struggles,” published in Volume 4, Issue 1 of Poets’ Espresso Review as it resumes publication after a shutdown due to the coronavirus.
Erica L. Frendach ‘15 (Odenton, MD) is a Graphic Designer with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in Washington, D.C.
1990s Dr. Christopher J. Freet ‘98 (Willow Street, PA) successfully defended his dissertation on September 12, 2019, and graduated from Missio Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, PA, on June 6, 2020, with a Doctor of Ministry in Missional Leadership.
2000s Amanda (Haines) Dabbs ‘05 (Allison Park, PA) has been named the Digital Content Manager for the marketing and communications division at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. Mark J. Landry ‘01 (Collierville, TN) is the Senior Manager of Corporate Strategic Security for FedEx Freight and recently served as a presenter for the Thought Leadership Series webinar “Perimeter Security Reimagined: Implementing an Integrated Robotic Security System.” He has been with FedEx for 19 years in various leadership roles.
Heather M. (Irizarry) Murphy ‘10/MBA ’12 (Port Deposit, MD) is the Vice President of the Harford County (MD) Chamber of Commerce. She has been with the Chamber since 2016. She also completed the 2019 Harford Leadership Academy and was a recipient of The Maryland Daily Record’s 2019 VIP (Very Important Professionals) Successful by 40 award.
Amber L. Schmidt ‘17 (Lansford, PA) and Kyle S. Wasilkowski ‘16 (Walnutport, PA) were married on August 2, 2020, at Woodstone Country Club Gardens in Danielsville, PA. The couple will honeymoon in Disney World next year and currently reside in Harrisburg, PA.
Weddings and Engagements Heather M. Irizarry ‘10/MBA ‘12 (Severn, MD) and Alex W. Murphy ‘13 (Havre de Grace, MD) were married on November 13, 2019, at the Vandiver Inn in Havre de Grace. After a honeymoon in Florida, the couple resides in Port Deposit, MD. Imani K. McMillan ‘16 (Downingtown, PA) became engaged in March 2020, and is planning a wedding for May 2021. Selena A. Rossell ‘15 (Elizabethtown, PA) married Timothy Merrick on October 18, 2019, at Wyndridge Farm in Dallastown, PA. The couple resides in Harrisburg, PA.

Deceased Alumni and Friends ALUMNI Beverly A. (Jacobs) Auchey ‘57 (Fayetteville, PA), August 30, 2020. She attended York Junior College. She is survived by two daughters, a son, and many grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. John “Jack” F. Duignan, Sr. ‘74 (Hummelstown, PA), September 1, 2020. He served in the U.S. Navy, then entered the Pennsylvania State Police Cadet Training Program in August 1955. He served in the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) for 36 years, retiring

as a Major in 1991. After earning his bachelor’s degree from the College, he continued his education in the master’s program at the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School, and the doctorate program from Temple University. He was the first member of the PSP to receive a doctorate degree. He was also nominated to the FBI’s National Academy in Quantico, VA, where he served as Director of Training and Director of the Evaluations and Standards Division. He is survived by his wife, Pamela, their three children, two stepdaughters, and many grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Lisa A. (Wiseman) Henry ‘91 (Lititz, PA), March 20, 2019. She held managerial positions in the food service industry and enjoyed gardening, cooking, and the beach. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Todd, and her parents, as well as many relatives.
Joshua R. Dyal ‘07 (Bellmawr, NJ), August 3, 2019. He worked at TD Bank as a Vice President, Senior Financial Analyst. He is survived by his parents and his sister, as well as many family members.
Mary Ellen “Mickey” (Frey) Monson ‘74 (York, PA), June 28, 2020. She was employed by the York Hospital Lab and Central Pennsylvania Alliance Laboratory. She was a founding member of the Springettsbury Township Historic Preservation Committee, serving on the committee for 23 years. She is survived by Norman, her husband of 47 years, their two sons, and a grandson.
Elaine M. (Jones) Eveson ‘74 (Charlotte, NC), June 24, 2020. She had a long career as an accountant, controller and financial executive with several companies and was a resident of Charlotte for 40 years. She was a member of Providence United Methodist Church and volunteered with the Chancel Choir and the Handbell Choir. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Ronald, her son, and twin granddaughters.
Tamara “Tammy” L. (Gordon) Metz ‘84 (Mifflintown, PA), October 20, 2020. She also attended Shippensburg University and worked as a substitute teacher and bookkeeper. She is survived by her husband of almost 30 years, Thomas, their three children and three grandchildren.
James M. Scheu ‘03 (Spring Grove, PA), July 18, 2020. He served in the U.S. Navy and accomplished a lifelong goal when he graduated from the College with his associate’s degree at age 60. He was the General Superintendent of
Operations at Teledyne McKay in York for over 25 years and retired from MasterCraft Specialties in Red Lion, PA, in 2006. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jo Ann, a daughter, and a granddaughter. Gerald L. Wolf ‘90 (Ephrata, PA), November 3, 2019. He was a computer technician and was married to his wife, Linda, for almost 50 years. He is also survived by their daughter, two grandsons, and two great-granddaughters. FRIENDS Jean T. (Taylor) Semmelman (York, PA), September 12, 2020. Jean turned 100 years old on July 7. She was the College’s first registrar and worked here for 25 years, and also established a scholarship for Engineering students. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Education from Ohio State University and a master’s degree from the former Western Maryland College. She was also a certified Master Gardener. Her husband, John, passed away in 1997. She is survived by their four children and many grandchildren.
