70s Joseph J. Hildebrand '74 (Orange Park, FL) is currently employed as a civilian Utilities Analyst at Naval Air Station Jacksonville in Florida. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant Commander. He and his wife, Connie, welcomed their first granddaughter, Hannah Grace, in August. Barbara A. Sleeger '71 (York, PA) retired from WellSpan York Hospital on January 5, 2018, after a 47-year career in the laboratory and information technology departments. She also completed a nine-year term on York College’s Alumni Board of Directors in June 2018, and continues to volunteer with the Alumni Association.

80s Linda Amos ′84 (York, PA) will have two of her poems – "She Remembered" and "Again and Again" – published in the November/ December issue of Amulet Magazine. Dr. Teresa L. Gregory '89/MBA '02 (York, PA) was named President of Traditions Mortgage, a division of York Traditions Bank. She earned a Doctorate of Business Administration from Walden University (Minneapolis, MN) in 2016 and is an adjunct professor of finance at York College.

90s Christopher J. Freet '98 is working on his Doctorate of Ministry from Biblical Theological Seminary in Hatfield, PA. He holds two Master of Art degrees in Religion in New Testament Studies and World Christianity from Evangelical Seminary. He lives in Willow Street, PA, with his wife, Stacey. Stephanie R. Larkin '91 (Lemoyne, PA) is the Vice President of Education, Safety and Workforce Development with the Keystone Chapter of Associated Builders & Contractors.

00s Jessica C. Caggiano '06 (Moon Township, PA) joined Willig, Williams & Davidson law firm as a labor and employment attorney. Jeffrey R. Guindon MBA '08 (Lancaster, PA) was promoted to Senior Wealth Advisor at RKL Wealth Management. Megan E. O’Brien '04 (Hackettstown, NJ) was named the Sports Information Director at Centenary University in Hackettstown, NJ, in January 2018. She was previously the Assistant Director of Athletic Media Relations at Towson University in Maryland. Kevin J. Schreiber '02 (York, PA) has been named to the Board of York Traditions Bank Directors. Todd M. Spahr '00 (York, PA) joined York College as a full-time Assistant Professor of Cyber Security Management.

10s Taryn L. Allander '15 (New Cumberland, PA) is Vice President of a regional Beltone Hearing Aid franchise based in Camp Hill, PA, which operates 14 centers. Timothy J. Hartung '14 (Wilbraham, MA) has been named the full-time men's and women's cross country/distance coach at Springfield College in Massachusetts. Alexander J. Iula '17 (Dallastown, PA) is the Conference Coordinator for FLIK Hospitality, a division of the Compass Group, at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business Sands Family Grounds in Arlington, VA. Stephen A. Lanahan '13 (Gettysburg, PA) was awarded the SAE International/AEM Outstanding Young Engineer Award. The award recognizes an outstanding young engineer in the off-highway or power plant industry. Lanahan is currently a Design Engineer II with Volvo Construction Equipment in Shippensburg, PA.


Weddings and Engagements Jenna M. Poynton '12 (Easton, PA) and Edward C. Griffith '12 (Glenville, NY) were married on September 29, 2018, at the Blue Mountain Resort. The couple resides in Harrisburg, PA. Kelsey A. Stone '13 (St. Leonard, MD) and Alexander R. Bew '12 (New Cumberland, PA) were married on September 15, 2018, in St. Mary’s County, MD. They just bought their first home in Howard County, MD.

Deceased Alumni Michael V. D'Ambrose '02 (Vineland, NJ), March 21, 2018. David L. Arnold, Sr. '57 (Staunton, VA), August 1, 2016. He served as a sergeant in the Korean War, attended York Junior College, and earned his bachelor’s degree from Elizabethtown College. He was a pilot for TWA for 28 years, retiring as a Senior Captain in 1992. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Diane. Alanson J. "Jay" Bien '76 (Florham Park, NJ), October 8, 2018. He worked for OHAUS Scale Corporation for 35 years. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Susan. Wilbur A. "Wib" Brandt '48 (Jupiter, FL), August 18, 2018. He served in the U.S. Navy at the end of World War II and attended York Junior College. He and his wife of 62 years, Dorothy, moved to Palm Beach County, FL, in 1957, where he was the head building official for the town of Jupiter for 22 years. He is survived by his children, siblings, and many other relatives. Barbara A. (Shutt) Dochat '53 (Lancaster, PA), March 19, 2018. She attended York Junior College and the former St. Joseph's School of Medical Technology. She worked for Fulton Bank as a mortgage processor, retiring in 1995. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Fred, their children, and grandchildren. James C. Evans '63 (Red Lion, PA), September 25, 2018. He earned an associate degree from York Junior College, a bachelor's degree from Penn State, and an MBA from York College in 1987. He was a CPA and worked for numerous firms in the area. He also served in the U.S. Air Force from 1964-1968, spending two years in Alaska. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Brenda. Stephen C. Haley '78 (Lakeland, FL), October 22, 2018. He worked as a police officer and detective, as well as a juvenile probation officer and taught adult education courses in Bartow County Prison in Florida. He is survived by his three children and grandson. Raymond E. Hively, Jr. '72 (York, PA), September 8, 2018. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed for 18 months in Alaska. He was a member of York College’s veterans’ fraternity, Chi Gamma Iota. He worked for PennDOT, several auto dealerships, and finished his career with Highbourne Deer Farms in Dallastown, PA. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ann, their sons, and grandchildren. Amy L. (Stiltner) Huber '09 (Pasadena, MD), January 15, 2017. She is survived by her husband, Scott S. Huber '08, and their son, Braeden. Charles R. Kindig '74 (Mount Wolf, PA), April 3, 2017. He was employed by Caterpillar for over 30 years and proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Donna, their son and daughter, and three grandchildren. Daniel L. Kirk, Jr. '64 (Lansdale, PA), September 16, 2016. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was employed as CFO with a number of firms in the medical and rehabilitation fields. He is survived by his wife, Carol, and their daughter.


Alexander J. Kitlas, Jr. '92 (New Freedom, PA), October 28, 2017. He was employed by T. Rowe Price in Owings Mills, MD, for 20 years and was a longtime member and board member of Bon Air Country Club in Glen Rock, PA. He is survived by his wife and their three children, as well as three grandchildren, and two brothers. Donald E. Leik '56 (York, PA), July 3, 2018. He attended York Junior College and retired from the U.S. Navy Supply Depot in Mechanicsburg, PA. He was a U.S. Army veteran and also served in the Pennsylvania National Guard, and was Treasurer for the local chapter of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. George M. Maifair '81 (Gardners, PA), June 8, 2018. He was a member of the Alpha Chi National Honor Society at the College. Lorna M. (Gross) Myers '57 (York, PA), May 9, 2018. She attended York Junior College and trained at Lancaster General Hospital. She worked in the labs at York Hospital for more than 30 years and was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in York. She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Kenneth. Johanne T. Peck '53 (Ft. Lauderdale, FL), July 19, 2018. She attended York Junior College and received her Ph.D. in Child Psychology from the University of Maryland. She was an author and an active member of the River of Grass Unitarian Universalist Congregation. She is survived by her two sons and two grandchildren. Samantha F. (Tabackin) Rodriguez '12 (Brogue, PA), October 18, 2018. She was a product manager for 1010data and the cheerleading coach for Dallastown and York Suburban High Schools. She is survived by her husband, Devon, and their two sons, as well as her parents and other family members. Stephen E. Ruth '67 (York, PA), August 31, 2018. He received an associate degree from York Junior College and a bachelor's degree from West Virginia University in 1969. Over the years, he worked for Equifax Services, the U.S. Post Office, J.C. Ehrlich Co., and Stauffers of Kissel Hill. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, the Rev. Mary-Margaret Overly Ruth. Clifford W. Shaffer, Jr. '83 (Lehighton, PA), April 9, 2018. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959-1961 and also served in the U.S. National Guard. He worked as a firefighter for Bethlehem Steel for 45 years. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Corine, their children, his siblings, and many other family members. Walter F. Shedlock, Sr. '63 (Lake City, FL), June 29, 2018. Rose Marie Shuchart '54 (New Freedom, PA), May 17, 2018. She attended York Junior College and worked for Bubb Insurance for 25 years. She was also a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Freedom. Judith M. "Judy" (Olsen) Stark '91 (East Moline, IL), August 9, 2018. Her career was in accounting and bookkeeping. She was CFO at the former Marycrest College. She was also an accomplished quilter. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Rick. Nora May Williams '95 (Mechanicsburg, PA), July 21, 2017. She was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections and was a member of Daybreak Church in Mechanicsburg. She is survived by her niece, to whom she was a guardian, her sister, and three brothers.

Friends Robert H. Rohrer (Lancaster, PA), August 31, 2018. He attended York Junior College and Bates College in Lewiston, ME. He served in the U.S. Navy and worked for Lancaster Press and Capital City Press. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joanne, and many family members. Michael A. Snyder (Lancaster, PA), August 30, 2018. He attended York College and was a well-known magician with his wife of 31 years, Donna. They were honored with the Lancaster Catholic High School Alumni Citation Award for professional achievement in March 2018.
