DRAWING WITH PRISMACOLOR PENCILS WITH DR. BRADLEY SABELLI | Saturday, September 12, 2020 | 10 AM - 2 PM | Center for the Arts | Lewandowski Classroom | 18+ | Beginner to Intermediate | Cost: $50 | Registration Deadline: Wednesday, September 9, 2020 | This class will develop an understanding of composition, various drawing techniques with PrismaColor and permanent ink pens methods through line drawing, textures, shading, highlights. At least three finished sketches should be realized at end of session.

VIRTUAL LAUNDRY DAY WORKSHOP WITH ANDREA DOWNS | Saturday, September 19, 2020 | 11 AM - 12 PM | **This is a virtual workshop** The link to the event will be emailed to those enrolled. | 18+ | Beginner to Intermediate | Cost: FREE | Registration Deadline: Wednesday, September 16, 2020 | Individuals, groups and communities of people are invited to engage in Airing Out the “Dirty” Laundry project. Laundry Day Workshops are a call for women to gather together, opportunity to listen and to be heard, and to foster the love and understanding that resists hate and injustice. Laundry Day Workshops provide basic artmaking materials and brave, supportive, and safe spaces for women to create pieces of visual storytelling. Women’s signed or anonymous stories are collected and then joined together on laundry clotheslines in ongoing installations. Each story has a top layer that flows freely and is meant to be lifted as an invitation to the viewer to engage in and reveal the story underneath.

Learn several techniques and experiment with a variety of materials to paint, layer, collage, cut, print and play with whatever feels good. We’ll use photos, words and articles from magazines and other types of material. Let’s find your inner artist!

PAINTING A COLLAGE WITH ACRYLICS AND/OR WATER-SOLUBLE OILS WITH DR. We will also learn the basics of composition, with a quick review on painting with acrylics and water-soluble oil paint.

ACRYLIC PAINTING BASICS WITH DR. WATERCOLOR TEXTURES AND SURFACES WITH MARCIA KORT BUIKE | Saturday, May 15, 2021 | 10 AM - 2 PM | Center for the Arts | Studio 1 | 18+ | Beginner to Intermediate | Cost: $50 | Registration Deadline: Monday, May 10, 2021 | By using watercolor grounds, we can enjoy the fluidity of watercolors on diverse surfaces such as canvas, wood, plastic, metal, etc. Let’s move beyond the limits of paper and create new art.

CRAFTED | Future Dates TBA | Get CRAFTED with the Arts Council and Downtown Artistry at Legal Remedy Brewing. The Arts Council of York County’s newest art class has students creating works of art in the brewhouse. Admission includes clay and glaze to create your own CRAFTED project, & one flight of Legal Remedy Brewing’s craft beer.
