MISSION & VISION: It is the mission of the Arts Council of York County to provide leadership in arts education and development, arts marketing and arts advocacy, while branding York County as a regional arts destination. WHO WE ARE: Founded in 1977, the Arts Council of York County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, dedicated to the cultivation and advancement of the arts in York County, SC. We serve local artists and other arts organizations by funding small grant programs and providing studios, galleries and a performing arts space. Summer camps, arts education programs, music, and film provide a variety of arts experiences for students and the community. The Arts Council operates two facilities with four full-time and two part-time staff members, governed by a 25-person board of directors. The annual budget of $400 - $450,000 is supported through a combination of grants, individual and corporate membership donations, earned income and ticket sales. WHERE WE ARE: Centrally located in the Cultural District of historic Rock Hill, SC, the Arts Council manages two facilities along Main Street: the Center for the Arts at 121 E. Main St. and the Gettys Art Center at 201 E. Main St. ART: The arts enrich our lives, build bridges between cultures, promote a strong sense of community and provide opportunities for economic and cultural growth. A 2008 study conducted by Americans for the Arts indicated that arts organizations and their audiences produce a $7 million economic impact in York County. In 2016 we completed a new year-long study. The Arts & Economic study provides compelling evidence that the nonprofit arts and culture sector is a $27 million industry in York County - one that supports 846 full-time equivalent jobs and generates $2 million in local and state government revenue. Support for this project is provided by the SC Arts Commission (which receives funding from the NEA), Rock Hill Accommodations Tax Grant Fund, York County Hospitality Tax and the ACYC Annual Campaign. For visitor information including lodging, contact the Rock Hill / York County Visitor Center at 888-702-1320.

The Arts Council Turns Forty This Year! And Forty Never Looked So Good! We’ve come a long way baby! From a single office and the annual Jubilee: Harvest of the Arts Festival, we have grown into a thriving arts organization with 40+ arts events each year. We invite you to celebrate with us in a year-long 40th birthday party. Take advantage of 40+ Art Experiences from film, music, visual arts exhibitions, art classes and workshops, to festivals, concerts, juried works, and creative short stories and poetry. The arts enrich our lives, encourage creative thinking, engage students and teachers, and produce over $27 million in economic impact in York County alone. We invite YOU to experience the arts for yourself. It’s an investment in our future that keeps on giving.

- 10 Things the Arts Teach Us • Creativity • Problem Solving • Focus • Dedication • How to Receive Constructive Feedback

• Confidence • Perseverance • Non-Verbal Communication • Collaboration • Accountability

Many thanks to our patrons for their local support. In addition to our sponsors and contributors who help sustain the arts, we also thank the artists and musicians, actors and workshop leaders, teachers, administrators, and board members who keep our Council running smoothly and help us brand York County as a regional arts destination.
