The award-winning Alasdair Beckett-King returns to this timeline with a dimension-hopping standup comedy show. Is a better world possible? Yes! It already exists, but you don’t live there. ABK makes the best of a bad timeline in this ramshackle jaunt through a multiverse of wonders. Also, Winston Churchill performs the best of Queen.

Eliott has never cared for sex. He enjoys doing people as much as he enjoys doing his taxes (not at all), yet for all his life it has led to nothing but ridicule. But in peculiarity lies comedy, and Simpson has it in spades. Impromptu Shakespeare

Wild Thyme (and Heather)

Bursting with love, poetry, comedy, tragedy, mistaken identity and everything in-between, Impromptu Shakespeare brings you an entirely new and unique Shakespeare play inspired by audience suggestions, to delight Shakespeare nerds and newbies alike.

It’s kind-of about the Brontës. It’s kind-of about Grief. It’s definitely about Feminism. It’s 200 years since the Brontë sisters, Emily, Charlotte and Anne, were born. How much have things changed? Lily, Grace and Clara are all young women trying to work out where they fit. Do they have a right to complain about the way things are for girls in the UK: or is what boys say to them just banter? 14+ (45 minutes)

Disabled Access Due to the ‘work in progress’ state of the Arts Barge at this year’s festival, we regret that wheelchair access down to the performance space is not possible. Through Riverside 2019 we aim to raise interest and funds to return in 2020 with full disabled access lift and toilet facilities. In the meantime, the gang-planks onto the barge are wide and wheelchair users are very welcome to enjoy the deck area. Our Riverside marquee (24th - 28th July) is free and accessible to all. Accessible toilet facilities in St. George’s Field car park, will be available during all Arts Barge Riverside Festival opening hours.
