TONIGHT’S EMCEES DANIEL TULLOCH
SHEEREEN HARRIS
York University Athletics & Recreation would like to thank Daniel Tulloch and Sheereen Harris for officiating tonight’s festivities. A forward on the men’s basketball team since the 2012-13 season, Daniel is one of the most explosive players in the OUA. He averaged a career-high 18.7 points per game in the 2013-14 season and despite dealing with a bad luck string of injuries has averaged 13.1 points per game in his three seasons with the Lions. He is a law and society major and a versatile player on the court who can play from the outside as well as in the paint. Daniel is a former high school slam-dunk competition winner who has electrified the Tait McKenzie crowd many times throughout his career with his high-flying dunks. A sprinter on the women’s track and field team, Sheereen is also the Sport Council President and has been highly involved in the varsity athletics community during her five years at York. On the track, she is a multiple time CIS and OUA Championship medallist and has served as captain of the women’s track and field team since 2012. She is also an outstanding student earning CIS academic all-Canadian honours and has also volunteered as a student-athlete mentor with the PAWS program during her time at York. Sheereen is a kinesiology and health science major who is graduating this year after a successful five years with the Lions.

YORK UNIVERSITY SPORT COUNCIL PRESIDENT GREETINGS
On behalf of York University’s Varsity Sport Council, I would like to welcome you to the 2015-16 Varsity Sport Awards Banquet. Tonight we are here to celebrate both the individual and team successes experienced throughout this past season. I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to everyone who has contributed to the various initiatives organized by Sport Council, including Light the Night, AdoptA-Family, and the first annual Varsity Post-Season Palooza. To the members of Sport Council who have attended the meetings, helped with these initiatives, and contributed so many amazing ideas, I thank you all for your enthusiasm and assistance as none of this could have been possible without your help. I would also like to acknowledge the individuals that enthusiastically attended the regular season games as well as the CIS National Championship events for the men’s soccer and track and field teams. I can assure you that your support and pride for your fellow Lions is very much appreciated and does not go unnoticed. Furthermore, I would like to congratulate all athletes for the outstanding success that they have had this past season. Each and every competing team represented York University with pride and I want to thank you for raising the bar for upcoming seasons. On behalf of York University’s Sport Council, I would like to thank you all for being here tonight to celebrate our successes, particularly our special guests for their continued support. I would also like to thank the administrative staff, coaches and therapists who are the foundation of our programs and work tirelessly to help us reach our potential. A very special thank you to all of the student-athletes in attendance today, who have dedicated countless hours to being the best they can be both in the classroom and on the field, court, track, ice and mat. To my fellow graduating athletes, I would like to thank you for all of your hard work and commitment throughout your entire university careers. I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavours and would like to remind you that you will always be part of the Lion family. To the returning athletes: congratulations once again on the completion of yet another successful season. Let’s use the memories of this past year, both the good and the bad, to motivate you in the years to come and continue to accomplish bigger and better things each successive year!
