Our Mission Young America’s Foundation is committed to ensuring that increasing numbers of young Americans understand and are inspired by the ideas of individual freedom, a strong national defense, free enterprise, and traditional values.
“Young America’s Foundation programs offer invaluable assistance to young men and women searching for the encouragement and understanding necessary to reinforce the values of a
As the principal free society.” youth outreach — President Ronald Reagan organization of the Conservative Movement, the Foundation introduces thousands of young people to these ideas. We accomplish our mission by providing essential conferences, seminars, educational materials, internships, and speakers to young people across the country. Young America’s Foundation also saved President Reagan’s Western White House,
Rancho del Cielo, in the spring of 1998 to preserve it as a living monument to Ronald Reagan and to pass on the President’s lasting accomplishments to future generations. In 2003, Young America’s Foundation acquired the National Journalism Center (NJC) to train students in the skills of accurate journalism and reporting through internships, writing assignments, and classroom training.
Student Conferences and Seminars Tens of thousands of young people are introduced to conservative ideas through Young America’s Foundation’s nationwide student conferences.
Young conservatives often feel isolated on their campuses. The Foundation’s conferences and seminars offer an alternative to the leftist “For freedom is not the environment property of one generation; by bringing young people it’s the obligation of this and together with every generation. It’s our the Conservative duty to protect it and expand Movement’s biggest stars. it and pass it undiminished Conferences for to those still unborn.” both high school — President Ronald Reagan and college students are held in Washington, D.C., Santa Barbara, California, and across the country. Larger conferences, such as the National Conservative Student Conference, promote a range of conservative thought, while smaller seminars focus on specific topics such as
free enterprise or ensuring America’s security. Past speakers at Foundation programs include President Ronald Reagan; Nobel Laureates James Buchanan, Vernon Smith, and Milton Friedman; Secretaries Caspar Weinberger and Alexander Haig; authors Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin; economist Dr. Walter Williams; columnists Robert Novak, Paul Gigot, and George Will; Ambassador Jeane Kirkpatrick; Governors George
Allen, Bobby Jindal, Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin, and Tim Pawlenty; Speakers Newt Gingrich and John Boehner; Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher; Vice President Dick Cheney; and hundreds more.
Campus Lectures Young America’s Foundation brings leading conservatives to campuses across the country, often providing students with the only conservative ideas they will be exposed to during their educations.
Young America’s Foundation is the only organization specializing in helping students host high profile speaking events featuring prominent leaders of the Conservative Movement on their campuses. Colleges and universities, “At many schools [YAF] overflowing with liberal speeches have become professors, often pay large sums to have the biggest events of left-wing speakers such the semester.” as Michael Moore, — Time magazine Bill Clinton, Thomas Friedman, and Al Gore address their students, while banning or censoring conservatives. With more than 70 leaders in the Foundation’s speakers program, we organize more than 600 lectures each year and assist students throughout the entire process.
Current and past Foundation speakers include Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, William F. Buckley Jr., Steve Forbes, Newt Gingrich, Ward Connerly, Michelle Malkin, Karl Rove, Ann Coulter, Edwin Meese, John Ashcroft, and many others.
“On the matter of your lecture series, these are experiences of infinite importance. As recently as last night, a 42 year-old affluent influential conservative told an audience of 400 people that his orientation came from hearing such a talk at Cornell when he was a sophomore. So I do hope that your important Foundation will be able to continue to support such appearances in the years ahead.” — William F. Buckley Jr.
The Reagan Ranch Young America’s Foundation preserves and protects Ronald Reagan’s ranch to pass on President Reagan’s ideas and lasting accomplishments to future generations.
W hy do we stand by President Reagan and his achievements so firmly? President Reagan spread freedom at “From the first day we saw home and it, Rancho del Cielo cast abroad—his a spell over us. No place success shows us the way. before or since has ever given Young people Nancy and me the joy and need effective serenity it does.” role models for their ideas — President Ronald Reagan to be shaped and formed appropriately. These leaders most often come in the form of our nation’s Presidents, the policies they embrace, and the minds they change. The Reagan Ranch is the one place where young people can come face to face with the values for which Ronald
Reagan stood: freedom, hard work and its rewards, steady determination, humility, hope, love of country, and love of family.
“The Ranch is where Ronald Reagan became real to me…Ronald Reagan was always a man I wanted to know. After visiting his ranch—now protected and preserved by Young America’s Foundation— I feel like I do.” — Senator Jim DeMint
The Reagan Ranch Center Young America’s Foundation’s stateof-the-art facility in Santa Barbara, California, serves as a “Schoolhouse for Reaganism.”
The Reagan Ranch Center complements the Reagan Ranch and is a hub of conservative activity on the West Coast. Not only the home to the Foundation’s California-based staff and programs, the 22,000-square-foot facility is also utilized by like-minded organizations from around
the country as a place to meet, share ideas, and gain inspiration. With four floors of classrooms, conference space, a theater, interactive exhibits, historic Ranch-related artifacts, and a library of conservative resources, the Center is where Conservative ideas thrive and Ronald Reagan’s ideas are brought to life.
The National Journalism Center The National Journalism Center trains scores of students every year in the skills of responsible journalism.
Participants in Young America’s Foundation’s National Journalism Center (NJC) programs learn how to become accurate reporters, receive new media technology training, develop investigative journalism skills, and enhance their knowledge of public policy issues. NJC has placed participants at cooperating media outlets including the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Times, National Review, the Weekly Standard, CNN, C-SPAN, Human Events, Forbes, and elsewhere. NJC also holds weekly training sessions with students during its 12-weeklong fall, winter, and spring programs.
“NJC was, hands-down, the best journalistic experience I’ve had, and it is vital for my future in the field.” — Megan McCormick, Luther College
Media, Publications, and Activism Resources Young America’s Foundation supports courageous students by giving them the tools and training to promote conservative ideas on their campuses. C-SPAN and online broadcasting deliver Young America’s Foundation’s programs to millions, while the Foundation’s publications assist students nationwide.
Young America’s Foundation encourages students to actively promote conservative ideas to their peers by organizing initiatives coordinated on campuses nationwide. The Foundation frequently publishes books, pamphlets, and other materials to help students organize activities and advance their ideas at their schools. Spring 2009

The Foundation’s website, www.yaf.org, along with an active presence on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, regularly updated podcasts, live web streaming from our ThevICTIMSOF events, and other Che Guevara resources share our ideas with today’s technology savvy student audiences. The Foundation’s magazine, Libertas, along with popular posters and calendars, also serve to advance conservative ideas among young Americans. che Guevara was an international terrorist and mass murderer. During his vicious campaigns to impose communism on countries throughout Latin America, che Guevara trained and motivated the castro regime’s firing squads that executed thousands of men, women, and children. All individuals used in this photo montage were murdered by che and the cuban regime, revealing the truth of che’s cruel, murderous hypocrisy and acknowledging his countless victims—known and unknown.

Supporting Students’ Rights Young America’s Foundation is fighting to preserve students’ rights to participate in the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps across the country.
The Left continues to belittle our armed forces and prevent students from speaking with military recruiters and participating in the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) and the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) on campuses. The Foundation helps students fight anti-military bias and protect their rights to meet with military recruiters and participate in ROTC on their campuses.
