Hi! I will be giving you information about the Shawnee Indians. The Shawnee Indians was one of the coolest tribes that ever existed.

Are you ready to learn about the Shawnee Indians weapons tools? I hope so, you will learn a lot! Their hunters and warriors used bows, arrows, stone tomahawks, and spears. Shawnee Indians fishermen used spears, and nets.

Houses

Did you know that the Shawnee Indians made their own houses? Native Americans only built a wigwam for fun. They did not live in teepees. They lived in small round dwellings called wikkums, or wigwams. These are Shawnee Indians houses.

Arts and Crafts

There were many arts and crafts they did. The design’s and pictures on wampum belts often told a story or represented a person’s family. Their tribe is known for their bead work. They were more culturally important as an art material. These are Shawnee Indians arts and crafts.

Food

There were many foods that the Shawnee Indians hunted. They were really good farming and hunting people. Their women planted and harvested corn and squash. Their food was soup, cornbread, and strews. These are the Shawnee Indians foods.

Essay

The Shawnee people were able to adapt to their environment because they made their own houses, they have nice arts and crafts, and they made their weapons and tools to catch.

One reason the Shawnee weapons and tools are important is they made their tools, and weapons out of wood. They made them out of wood because there was no other way because it was back in olden’ days. They have weapons so if there is a deer they can catch the deer.

A second reason the Shawnee’s tools were important was because of their love of arts and crafts. They designed their own pictures. Belts often told a story or represented a person’s family.

A third reason my tribe adapted is the houses they built. They lived in small round dwelling wigwams. Shawnee did not live in teepees. Today, they live in modern buildings houses and apartments.

As you can see each from each of these reasons the Shawnee Indians were able to adapt to their environment.

Dear Diary,

Today, I was on my way to go hunting for deer for Aston. I had terrible problems! The deer was too fast for me and Aston to catch. The next day I hope we can go out hunting to catch deer again. I said, “Aston do you and me want to go hunting again?” “Sure” he said! So we are hunting and there is a deer right In front of us! We got him. I concentrated and got him! I build my own bows and arrows.

From, Tommy
