LIVE YOUR DREAM Founder’s Message OUR 20TH ANNIVERSARY Grand Convention was truly a grand event. Mary and I were in awe as we watched the convention center fill to capacity. Almost 9,000 members were there to celebrate with us. So many friends from around the world who have been part of Young Living’s growth for these past 20 years came to share their thoughts and feelings with us. We felt very honoured to have so many of you with us for this history-making event and were thrilled to see you beaming with joy as you carried in the flag of your country. The sound of the music was electrifying as our voices filled the air singing the words, “Come and live your dream. It’s easy as it seems. Come and taste the sweet freedom right now.” Thousands of you are living your dreams and the sweet freedom that comes from having health and abundance and at the same time being part of a movement to carry this message of freedom to the world—freedom from strife and pain, freedom from lack, freedom from hopeless longing, and all that freedom means to each one of us. Never have I offered so many new products, but all of them are vitally important as the needs in our world become more demanding each day. Gary Young FEW PEOPLE IN this world are unstoppable, who if they say they’re going to do something, they do it. Young Living Founder and CEO D. Gary Young is one of those people. When he has a vision or sees something he wants to accomplish or create, he becomes unstoppable. That is all encompassing for Young Living, leading in research, formulation, and farm production for harvesting and distilling of essential oils that is becoming an unstoppable force for good throughout the world. The secret to the company’s success? It all started with a dream. During the 2014 International Grand Convention, Gary shared a painful experience from his past that would change the course of his life forever. By visualising his dreams, he made what he was told was an impossibility into a reality. A life-threatening logging accident left Gary barely alive with 19 broken bones that included crushed vertebrae in both his back and neck, broken ribs, three open skull fractures, a severed brachial plexus in three places, and a herniated spine, which left him paralysed, broken physically and emotionally, alone, and desperate with no hope.
“Sometimes you have to fall into the deepest pit before you decide to fight for life,” Gary said. “In my deepest pit, God gave me the gift of dreaming; and while dreaming, I discovered I had not lost my freedom. I could do anything. I could live any life I wanted in my mind.” Through intense perseverance, together with unrelenting determination, Gary willed himself to recover and walk again. Much of the healing—both emotionally and physically—rose out of his intense dreams. The energy of Gary’s powerful message seemed to charge the room and all those listening. He said, “So many times we live in limitation because we don’t know how to dream, but if you don’t dream it, you will never achieve it. If you don’t see it, you will never achieve it. If you don’t believe it, you will never achieve it.” “The key is to know that you can have your dreams. Visualise your dreams as complete; see them as reality. Anchor your dreams and get on the path to achieving them.” Gary’s absolute “knowing” not only brought about the miracle of walking again, but it also forged the great Young Living movement that is changing lives everywhere—the reality of a continuous dream.
