Young Living distributors revel in Caribbean during 2012 GLC Founder’s message

Australians Connie Hellbig and Kathleen Hamill joined hundreds of Young Living distributors for a week of relaxation and learning during Young Living’s Global Leadership Cruise in the Caribbean, March 2–10.

Nearly 500 Young Living distributors from around the world sailed the dreamlike Caribbean seas as participants in the company’s Global Leadership Cruise, held during the first week of March. Climbing aboard Royal Caribbean’s beautiful, international ship Serenade of the Seas, the accomplished distributors set sail from San Juan, Puerto Rico, for a week of revitalisation, transformation, and one-of-a-kind learning. For most, the stunningly blue water and foliage-covered islands of the Caribbean would typically be the attractions of such a getaway, but with Gary and Mary Young onboard, the greatest attractions were on the Serenade of the Seas. “Having Gary and Mary on the cruise with us—and educating us—is absolutely huge,” said Pamela Hunter, a Gold distributor from Illinois. “Also, it’s fun to be on the cruise with distributors from around the world because we have become such great friends.” During the cruise Gary and Mary spent hours teaching eager distributors about life, Young Living’s new products, and unique insights into building a powerful and successful Young Living business. “I am a relatively new member to Young Living, and I really appreciate and enjoy the opportunity that I have had here to personally get to know Gary and Mary and to learn from them,” said German distributor Ulrich Ziegler.

Because the Caribbean offers so much beauty and opportunity to recuperate from daily life, much of the training and activities took the distributors deep into the waters or far into the islands. During an excursion on the beautiful island of Grenada, distributors boarded more than 40 buses and took a delightful tour of the island’s scenic loop, which consisted of a stop at a nutmeg processing facility, where the facility’s employees described the process used to distill nutmeg, clove, and cinnamon oils and spices. In addition to Grenada, the cruise gave distributors the opportunity to shop,

snorkel, and sightsee on and around the breathtaking islands of Antigua, St. Lucia, St. Croix, and St. Thomas. “These trips broaden our perspective as to what is possible,” said Angela Shim, a Silver distributor from Canada. “It’s on these trips and at the convention where we really feel the heart of the company.” To register for upcoming events, including the 2012 International Grand Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah, please visit www.youngliving.com.au

I am often asked one very fundamental question pertaining to Young Living, which, when answered, usually leads to another, more important question.
