NEWS OF THE WORLD LEADER IN ESSENTIAL OILS

Vitality takes centre stage across the world during 2011 conventions Founder’s message Young Living is prospering! No greater evidence of our phenomenal growth exists than to be part of four different conventions and a grand opening in five different countries. From the North America convention in Orlando, Florida, to Vienna, Austria; Brisbane, Australia; Singapore; and Tokyo, Japan, we joined together as family and friends and left strengthened and determined. What a marvelous time to be sharing Young Living with the world.

I chose “Vitality” as the central theme for this year’s conventions because I know a life filled with vitality is a life full of energy and happiness to be part of a great vision with purpose and motivation—a life that makes a difference. That is how I live my life, and I want to share that enthusiasm and fulfillment with everyone. Vitality brings abundance, which leads to freedom. When lives are filled with vitality, sickness does not exist, apathy is replaced with determination, and potential is achieved.

Quickly becoming recognised as a centrepiece to abundance, vitality took centre stage during Young Living’s 2011 conventions. The conventions were power-packed events held in four countries in September and October. Distributors from around the world were challenged by Gary Young to “live healthy and build bodies with vitality”! Young Living makes living healthy possible; the essential oils and full line of nutritional products are catalysts to health. These offerings are vehicles that start us on the journey to vitality. But achieving vitality takes more effort than just applying oils and taking supplements; it requires a dedicated approach to changing your lifestyle. “Live life like you are always on an escalator,” said Gary. “Always go up and always keep moving. If you are not living life on the edge, you are

taking up too much space.” Living on the edge is not about living dangerously and taking uncalculated risks, but it is about finding motivation to becoming better, more active, more positive, more able to facilitate real change in your life and in those around you. In this way, living on the edge leads to vitality—a life of abundance and freedom. A life composed of vitality, according to Gary, is living in pure ecstasy. “Vitality is waking up in the

Let us discover the vitality within, and as you experience living a rich life, you will begin to help others find that same vitality. Live to be healthy and free by building your life with vitality! Essentially yours,

morning and hitting the ground running,” exclaimed Gary. “Vitality is getting out, enjoying God’s creations, and finding your place and meaning in the world.” As distributors were taken on an inspiring and insightful ride of what it means to live Young Living, they left the conventions with a resounding drive and purpose to experience vitality and then to share it with others. “I am so excited to go home and get started helping my friends and myself,” said one distributor. “The convention is great, really great. There is nothing like actually being here and experiencing it firsthand. You cannot get the education anywhere else that we get here.” Learning to live in abundance and vitality is a lifelong quest. Next year’s International Grand Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah, will continue to promote this theme of living with vitality. I loved our conventions, and the grand opening in Singapore was the “icing on the cake”! As I shared with you the latest research, introduced new products, and felt the passion within you ignite, I saw your desire grow to build abundance and vitality. I felt rejuvenated by you, and I hope you felt my passion and dedication in bringing to you the opportunity to have an abundant lifestyle—a unique and fulfilling lifestyle found by living in the heart of Young Living.

Farms Mona, Utah

Mona is being winterised as cooler temperatures quickly approach. More than 40 acres of clary sage are being planted.

St. Maries, Idaho

A previously barren field at the St. Maries farm was recently planted with melissa that came from seeds distributors had planted earlier this year. The lodge at the farm is undergoing renovations that will increase the size of the bathrooms and give it access to a new reservoir. In addition to the renovations, a new well has been dug in order to provide more clean water for distributors who visit the farm.

Salalah, Oman

This is the start of the fall season and the end of the wet season in Oman. The only major tree that retains its green leaves in the spectacular crescent of the Dhofar Mountains is the Boswellia sacra frankincense tree. By early December, the frankincense trees will bloom and attract a variety of bees, ants, and butterflies.

Guayaquil, Ecuador

The Ecuador farm has been busy seeding lemongrass and harvesting five acres of ylang ylang, five acres of oregano, one acre of rosa morta, and half an acre of basil. All of the dorado azul seeds have been collected for next season.

Research Gary and his research team spent many months creating several unique products that were recently introduced. Two new oils native to Australia include blue cypress and lemon myrtle. In addition, the newly reformulated Power Meal was a popular product choice. The Roller Fitments, which transform a bottle of essential oil into a roll-on applicator, was part of Gary’s Seed-to-Seal® engineering initiative and were released during the 2011 conventions.

Making a turn toward marketing

Gary Young set to expand focus on teaching distributors how to propel their Young Living businesses “Is Young Living the world leader in essential oils?” asked founder D. Gary Young at the beginning of a keynote address during the 2011 Convention in Orlando, Florida. Distributor shouts rained in from the seats, answering in the affirmative. “Yes, we are the leader in providing the best essential oils; we are the leader in oil and nutritional research; we are the leader in distributor compensation. Now it is time for us to go into warp speed in the world of marketing.” Gary Young is making a strong shift in his company and is now going to be focusing more intensely on marketing Young Living. This new direction stems from his desire to help as many people as possible achieve vitality in life. “Building Young Living was a stairstep process,” explained Gary. “I did not want the company to be built on hype, but on true principles. We have done that, and now it is time to get people excited about the abundance that is awaiting them! A commission check is only a measurement of how many people you have helped. That is a very motivating way to look at it.”

In teaching distributors about marketing, simplicity is the key element. Gary taught that marketing is building relationships, and without the relationships, those trying to grow a Young Living business will never find success. “Why are you promoting Young Living?” questioned Gary. “You must answer that question for yourself in order to be successful. Sometimes we sleepwalk through life and wonder why we never get anywhere. Sometimes we keep spinning our wheels and wonder why our business

Inspirational leadership reception kicks-off convention

Wellness. Purpose. Abundance. These three pillars of Young Living are diligently sought after by thousands of distributors worldwide. For a dedicated few, wellness, purpose, and abundance have become their reality. The night before the 2011 Australian Convention in Brisbane, a Leadership Reception was held to honour Young Living’s Silver, Gold, and Diamond distributors. Jim O’Reilly, General Manager of Australia, opened the evening by making a generous donation on behalf of Young Living to little Jazmin Bromley. Jazmin is a 10-year-old

Brisbane girl who suffers from a rare and incurable condition. Her joints are so restricted she can’t bend down and can’t get up after a fall. Young Living donated toward her dream of an assistance dog to help her through everyday life. Other leaders shared inspirational messages of personal triumph, overcoming obstacles, and obtaining wellness, purpose, and abundance; their love for life—and Young Living—radiated from their eyes and through their words. Of true inspiration was special guest speaker John Coutis. John was born with a severe disability that

left him without the use of his legs. Refusing to die, John defied medical opinion on numerous occassions. Distributors in attendance were uplifted by his stories of sacrifice, service, determination, loyalty, and passion. All of the leaders left the evening feeling energised and empowered to spread Young Living’s message of vitality and pay it forward by inspiring and leading others to wellness, purpose, and abundance.

is not growing.” Successfully marketing Young Living and growing a business is based on building relationships. Inspiring and supporting people are both crucial. Encouraging others to find health, freedom, and vitality is the only way to succeed. People respond with enthusiasm when they know that you care about them. “As distributors, you are dream builders helping others realise their dreams,” Gary said. “Find out who they are and what they need; it is about serving other people.”

Sound waves, oils making noise Dr. Christi Bonds-Garrett exploring frequency, healing

Music makes each of us feel something. By acting as a gateway to emotional stimulation, music can motivate and inspire, lift and build; it can also depress, anger, and intensify. What is it that makes us so sensitive to music’s sound waves?

As Christi Bonds-Garrett, MD, taught during a profound lecture during Young Living’s 2011 Convention in Orlando, Florida, it is because we are composed mostly of water that we are easily influenced by the positivity and negativity produced by sound waves and their frequencies. “We are water. Newborns are 90 percent water and adults are 70 percent water,” states Dr. BondsGarrett. “It’s easy to see how we are so easily affected.” Dr. Bonds-Garrett clearly defined the body’s natural reactions to sound energy and how by using various frequencies our bodies can be persuaded to heal—a method she often uses while treating clients in her private practice in Paducah, Kentucky. In combination with Young Living’s Raindrop Technique®, Dr. BondsGarrett uses tuning forks to produce frequencies that enable healing within

the body. She discovered that by creating the fifth interval with tuning forks—and waving the forks around the body or by direct contact—the body releases nitric oxide, therefore promoting organ health and function. “Frequencies plus intention equals healing,” explains Dr. Bonds-Garrett. “The intention part of the equation is essential oils.” Essential oils in frequency healing are critical, says Dr. Bonds-Garrett, because the oils have the highest frequency of any natural substance, which may create inhospitable environments for viruses and diseases. Dr. Christi Bonds-Garrett is the author of Vibrational Raindrop Technique. Visit www.integrativemedicineofkentucky. com.

IHPC panel: tap into real energy “The energy drink industry brings in more than $7.5 billion in revenue every year,” says Doug Corrigan, Young Living’s product trainer, “but it is the wrong way to obtain energy.” And so began the roundtable panel discussion of Integrated Health Professionals Council (IHPC) experts who met at the 2011 Convention in Orlando, Florida, to discuss and instruct distributors on how to realise healthy, long-lasting energy. Edward Close, PhD, explained that in our sound byte society, we are expected to be “on” every minute,

and turning away from energy drinks and turning toward life purpose is crucial to reenergising our life. “It is easy to get up in the morning and to stay motivated during the day when you have a dream and purpose,” says Peter Minke, PhD. “Perspective, dreams, and determination are great sources of energy.” Keeping perspective and staying determined help you get beyond the nagging, negative situations that keep you down, according to panelist Tracy Griffiths. “Incompletions in life drain your

energy,” she says. “Live life in the present—it is easier to move forward.” Dr. Minke explained that we often submit ourselves to ritual abuse by getting into daily patterns that take us away from reality. Real life, he says, is good. “People are good and doing good things. Turn off the news; it is not reality.” Dr. Close elaborated on that idea and wrapped up the discussion by saying, “Live life with the intent to make the world better.”

Innovations continue YL around the world Australia Canada with roller fitments

The great responsibility Young Living carries as the world leader in essential oils continually drives forward innovative concepts and designs that solve problems, improve products, and perfect the therapeutic delivery of essential oils. One of these innovations, Young Living’s patented roller fitments, diverges from the decades-old path of oil application by transforming a bottle of essential oil into an efficient roller applicator. First introduced to a thunderous applause at the 2011 Convention in Orlando, Florida, this inexpensive mechanism delivers increased oil flow through a ball-like roller. The patented roller design allows the

bottle to be held in any orientation— sideways, downward, and upright— and still release the desired amount of oil to the body. The roller fitments are designed to work with the 5ml and 15ml bottles that are distributed by Young Living. These bottles, also known as “Sb” bottles, are imprinted with an “Sb” on the bottom of the bottle. Young Living’s new roller fitments add an exciting dimension to our existing six innovative rollons, which are powerful blends designed to relieve and revitalise. The blends include Breathe Again, RutaVaLa, Tranquil, Valor, Deep Relief, and Stress Away. With the new roller fitments, you can make any “Sb” bottle of oil a precise roll-on applicator. “Young Living is the first essential oil company in the world with this technology,” said Young Living researcher, Cole Woolley. “It is another great example of why we are the world leader in essential oils.” Please visit www.youngliving.com. au today to order your roller fitments (Item No. 4568).

Young Living Canada continues to reach new milestones month after month and saw more events and recognised more leaders in 2011 than ever before!

Young Living Singapore celebrated its grand opening with an exciting ceremony, Raindrop Technique® training by Gary Young, and an open house for guests and dignitaries.

Ecuador
