Community Events and Tours Anime Night Asian Heritage Month continues at your AGA as we screen two films by award winning director Mamoru Hosoda. Tickets are $10 per screening or $15 for both. Thursday, May 12 5:15pm Art and Wine Danielle Siemens will lead a tour

of our current exhibitions which feature Canadian folk artists Maud Lewis and Sidney Kelsie. Wednesday, May 11, 6pm Stroller Tours New parents are welcome to join us on a monthly tour of the AGA’s current exhibitions. This tours are designed to promote adult conversation, opportunities to socialize with other parents, baby play, and added flexibility to ensure if you need to step away to attend to your little one, you won’t miss a thing!. Last Thursday of every month

Classes and Education Tours for Tots Explorations for families and children aged 3–5 Wednesdays virtually at 10am. The Art Hive All Ages A weekly community-based art making initiative that is FREE and open to all, every Thursday. Thursday from 12-1pm.

Visitor Guidelines • Please admire, but don’t touch the artwork • Check in large items. Backpacks, umbrellas, musical instruments and other large items are not permitted in exhibition spaces. Coin operated lockers are available in the coat check room on the main level. • Silence cell phones • Keep food and drink outside the exhibition spaces • Take flash-free photos. Unless stated otherwise for personal use and social sharing only. Selfie sticks, tripods and flashes are not permitted in exhibition spaces.

COVID-19 health and safety protocols Effective February 9, 2022, AGA visitors are not required to show proof of vaccination to enter the Gallery. Together we can ensure everyone’s visit to the AGA is an enjoyable, welcoming and safe experience. As the safety of all visitors is our top priority, we are requiring all visitors to continue: • • • •

wearing a mask (see City of Edmonton bylaw) distancing prebooking their admission to help us manage capacities staying at home if they are unwell

Hours of Operation

Accessibility at your AGA The AGA is wheelchair and stroller friendly. Companion aids are always free and complimentary wheelchairs are available on request. The nearest LRT access is located West of the main doors that will take you to the Winston Churchill station accross the street from the gallery.

Tiffany Shaw has mapped the section of the North Saskatchewan River that flows through the city limits of amiskwacîwâskahikan (Edmonton) while thinking about the Métis scrip process.

Maud Lewis

One of Canada’s most beloved folk artists, Maud Lewis (1903-1970) was famous in her lifetime for her brightly coloured and endearing paintings of rural Nova Scotia. This retrospective of 140 paintings highlights Lewis’ mastery of colour, endless compositional variety and exuberant vernacular style.
