Welcome to Your Leisure Guide… The new brochure contains full details of the leisure services we provide in the Dover and Thanet districts - updates and news can also be found on our website www.yourleisure.uk.com I am delighted to see that the introduction of the new membership scheme across all of our centres is proving very popular. The Leisure Cards can also be used at all of our centres and continues to provide holders with significant discounts for many of the services and activities we offer, plus free swimming for juniors.A new Concession Leisure Card is being introduced specifically for senior citizens (60+), unemployed, students &people with disabilities to enjoy free swimming sessions. (see page 13 for further details). Details on timetables, activity pricing and additional services such as ‘soft play’ and Swim School’ are outlined inside and we will also shortly be introducing an online booking facility for many of our services. The recent opening of our new spa facilities and pool at Ramsgate sees the continuation of our investment policy and customer promise to modernise and improve the services and facilities in the local community. Perfectly situated off the A2, Dover Leisure Centre opened in 1972 and underwent refurbishment in 1994. Facilities include a 25 metre swimming pool together with a teaching pool, 8 court sports hall available to hire for badminton,5-a-side football, table tennis & basketball. The centre also sports three squash courts, fitness studio with treadmills, steppers, rowers, bikes, cross trainers, variety of workout classes and a morning creche.

Set in the picturesque parkland surroundings of Hartsdown Park and within walking distance of Margate Main Sands and Rail links. In 2009 the Centre underwent a £1.7million facility investment and now offers some of the best facilities around. Facilities include a 25 metre swimming pool together with teaching pool, sports hall which is available for 5-a-side football, badminton and table tennis together with a comprehensive fitness studio comprising of cardiovascular equipment with treadmills, steppers, rowers, bikes, cross trainers, a wide range of the latest resistance equipment and an excellent choice of free weights. There are also 2 dance studios catering for a range of group exercise classes and for the younger users Ollie’s Children’s Indoor Play Centre.

Set in the heart of Ramsgate, the centre was opened in July 2000 and underwent a significant £4 million pound investment programme in 2013. New facilities added were a 25m swimming pool together with a teaching pool, Feelgood Factory Toning Suite and the fabulous YOUR SPA, a day spa experience complete with treatment rooms. The extensive fitness studio was also refurbished and offers a wide variety of cardio and strength training together with a fully comprehensive exercise class programme. There is also a multi-use sports hall that can be used for a number of different activities plus a spinning suite.

A fantastic family friendly leisure pool with slides and a wave machine situated a short walk from Deal train station. The centre also features 4 court sports hall available to hire badminton, table tennis & 5 a side football. July 2011 saw the official opening of the brand new Deal Indoor Tennis Centre. The centre offers 4 indoor acrylic courts for hire and has a growing tennis coaching scheme for juniors and adults. Boxercise is a sport based aerobic instructor led exercise to keep the participant fit, but does not involve actually hitting anyone (or being hit). Boxercise classes can vary, both in content and target group. Our comprehensive ActiveReferral Scheme is ideal for those who are recovering from injury or suffer from prolonged illness and are looking to get back into exercise to enhance their lifestyle. Referrals must first come from your GP or Health professional, you will then need to register with the NHS Referral Scheme by phone using the freephone number on your referral form. After calling the NHS Referral Scheme, you will need to call in at your nearest centre to arrange your appointment. Appointment fee is payable £3.00.

Your Swimming Swimming is a great all-round activity that can help maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. We have put together a number of different sessions that aim to assist in your enjoyment of our pools and accommodate swimmers of all abilities. Don’t forget Leisure Card holders can swim for free at specific times. Please speak to a member of our customer services team for full details.
Admission Policy (Dover, Hartsdown, Ramsgate)

The test is readily available on request and upon completion a card will be awarded to the successful child. Each time the child attends the pool, they must produce their ‘Swim Safe Card’. The Card may be used at all Leisure Centres. Please note that proof of age and photo will be required.

Your Swim School
Your Swim School Your Swim School offers a swimming lesson programme from babies through to adults at all four leisure centres. With ASA qualified instructors, our courses will provide a sound foundation for every pupils swimming progression into other aquatic activities whether they are competitive or recreational. Our Swim School follows the ASA National Plan for Teaching Swimming for stages one to seven. Swimmers are continually assessed during the course ready to progress to the next stage.
Adult/Child & Baby Splash
Children from 4-36 months old are welcome £4.70 with their parents at either our structured Adult & Child classes or £3.90 informal Parent & Toddler Leisure Card Holder sessions. These sessions are designed to promote water confidence and develop early motor skills in the children, and will also show parents useful activities to practice whenever they come to the pool.
Entry into Swim School is either through the Under 5s programme or from a water assessment aimed at ensuring your child's correct placement within the Under 5s/Ducklings programme. The team comprises of a group of individuals with a multidisciplinary skillset, and an ethos of wanting to make a difference to the lives of the children, young people and adults that they work with. Robust partnerships have been at the heart of the team’s success, and the ability to create and deliver innovative solutions to meet the needs of those partners. Ranging from sport, to health, to education and to culture, the Community Team have become integral to many success stories in the district, and have proven central to the continuation of Sport and Extended School provision in the district. A key project was Pass the Passion, initiated by Kent County Council, and supported by partners in Local Government, Education, and Health, as well as a number of in dependent agencies. Pass the Passion was Kent County Council’s chosen project to lead the bid for the London 2012 Olympic Torch to arrive in the UK via Dover. A children and young people led project, and part of the wider Kent Torch Campaign, it culminated in an evening stop and event for the Torch Relay on 18 July 2012.
