Refunds A full refund will be given under the following circumstances only: • The course times or dates change so it is no-longer convenient for you • The course closes because there are insufficient numbers on the course

Helping you pay All of our courses are individually priced and most courses have 3 prices. The first is the full price, which most people will pay, the second for those claiming the state pension and the third for those on means tested benefits. If there is only one price shown then this applies to everyone, and there are no discounts.

What about examination fees? All examination and registration fees are included in the course price unless otherwise stated. 4

Changing my mind if I have signed up online or over the phone. If you sign up for the course over the telephone or on line then you have 14 days in which to change your mind and we will give you a full refund. However this does not apply if the course starts within the 14 day period or you apply after the course has started. Once the course has started you will not receive a refund, if you change your mind.

Worried about fees and charges? We know that for some people being able to take part in adult education is only possible if they receive assistance towards the costs of tuition, exam fees, travel, books, materials and childcare. We cannot support all courses so please ring 01904 554277 to find out if the course is eligible for support.

All refunds offered apart from those listed above are subjected to an administration fee of £15.

eM

Can I spread the cost of my payments? Our easy payment methods, to help you spread the costs are available on all courses over £100. This is done via direct debit and is generally for 4 payments spread over 4 months. On occasion we are able to set up payment schedules over a longer period but this cannot extend beyond the end date for the course. You should note that if you set up a direct debit you must not cancel it before the payment schedule is complete, even if you leave the course early. If you cancel your direct debit then the full cost of the course will be payable.

Under all other circumstances we can only offer a refund in exceptional circumstances. Once a course commences we cannot offer any refunds. This is because course fees make up a significant part or sometimes all of the funding for the course which then makes it viable to run.

Languages There are many reasons why you should learn a new language. Learning a Language can: • Increase your brain power (research has shown it exercises your grey matter) • Transform your travel experiences • Discover a different culture • Meet new people and make lifelong friends.

Handy Tips! 1st Price - Standard • 2nd Price - Concessions • 3rd Price - Means Tested Benefits

We have a wide range of language classes to help you make your learning experience and future holidays a fantastic and enjoyable experience. Our classes cover many levels and our tutors are very experienced. They will use a variety of activities and teaching methods to make learning fun, stimulating and useful.

Confused at which level to start at? Use this guide below to help you, otherwise please email us and a tutor can advise you.

Beginners (Yr 1)

Learn the basics of a language to cope in essential holiday situations: greetings and introductions, numbers and dates, café, directions, travel by public transport, hotel bookings, eating at a restaurant.

Year 2

Build on the basics to cope in further holiday situations: introducing yourself and others, requesting tourist information, renting accommodation, buying clothes and gifts, reporting a loss, discussing holidays.

Year 3

Develop your language skills further to be able to socialise with native speakers, from describing recent holidays to explaining your future plans. You will also be able to deal with visits to the chemist or doctor.

Year 4

Consolidate what you have learnt in order to explore the culture of the country studied, to describe people and places and make recommendations.

Intermediate

Build confidence in recounting past events and future plans, whilst exploring the culture of the country further and developing discussion skills.

Advanced

Extend your knowledge of the country to current events through news reports, literature and the media, then develop confidence in expressing your own views on the topics explored.
